Hotel help

Hi guys, I have searched this fantastic forum for hours and found some great information to help me on my 1st trip to LOS.

I need some help with hotels and would love your input. I have taken your advice and asked via e-mail about the joiner fee a hotels. I have contacted the Patong Villa and they have said that they have no joiner fee, the Patong resort said that their joiner fee is 500bht per person per night, but the information they send is a little vague. I remember reading in the threads that not all hotels are girl friendly and it is best to get e-mail confirmation. I am in need of some recommendations of good hotels that are most definitely girl friendly that I can e-mail for confirmation of their charges. I want to book in the next few days and would like 1st hand advice.

Ps. When I get to LOS do I just go to the Mai Thai bar and introduce my self as a forum member ??
thanks

Welcome to the board! It would be good to know if you have travelled anywhere else in SE Asia. You will find most guest houses and 2-3 star hotels are guest friendly. Most 4-5star hotels are not.

Good luck and enjoy!

Thank you for your reply,
I have not travelled Asia at all other than Bali, some years ago. I have travelled extensively in the USA and Europe, mostly for work staying in great hotels. This time I’m after a holiday no work and some fun, I just want a good clean hotel that will be ok with me and one of those a stunning Thai lady’s at night and i wont get ripped off.
thanks

Welcome to the forum , one thread you may have missed is the "sticky" in the "Accomodation,Transportation" forum , it is titled "BM's opinions to hotels/guesthouses". It gives the views of BM's on the different places they have stayed, and most "reviews" include whether a place is guest friendly, or if it charges a "joiner fee".

We must have posted at the same time , here is the link I was mentioning, it's a good starting point and will give you a few ideas. Once you get an idea about a place, you can then post any specific questions you have.

Just pop in any night from about 22.00 onwards and introduce yourself to Nicke or Ead, they are great hosts and will point out any other BM's that are in.

If you really, really want to make an impression , you could always "ring the bell" , then everyone would soon know who you are , as your name would go up on the board.

1. Nicke
2. Ead

...........and their beautiful daughter Natalie.

At the top of the page is a section ''Thailand Hotels''. Click on that and go to Phuket section. This lists the hotels you can book through this site. There are photos and description of hotel, also availabilty request and prices.

you can really just show up at the mtb and introduce yourself to nicke. i did the same thing in march and after 5 minutes i was already drinking with other boardmembers... i never thought it would be that easy...i think it's been mentioned a 1000 times on the board but nicke and ead are great hosts!

enjoy your trip

The Patong Resort near Bangla Rd does charge 500b joiner fee each night when I was there. However some of the staff give you dirty looks and you arn't made to feel very comfortable. Guess they forget where there wages come from.

Hey itsallaboutme41,
Welcome to the board. I do not post that often, but I find myself drifting back to the site very often just to be there in some sort of way. You may experience the same.

Check out this link
http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ac...esthouses.html OR

go to the accomodations, transportation section - titled BM opinions to hotels/guesthouses. This section is full of a lot of very good information. You can read about some of the hotels mentioned above.

You may also want to check out the Summer Breeze hotel as well. I stayed there this past Novermber/December for a few weeks. See what the BM's have to say about this and a few of the other hotels and I am sure you will find a least to that fits your needs and likings. GF, staff, rooms, safe, pool, ect.... what ever you are looking for.

Enjoy your tour, I can not make my return until later this year and I can not wait. Hope this helps.
