A question on a sim card. I did a search but came up with nothing

What is a cheaper sim card I can get in BKK that will work in BKK and also work in Phuket? Any idea on price?

1-2-call or DTAC. 1-2-call has better signal in Phuket also do good promotions.Both around 400 baht.Take your passport when buying as you may be asked for I.D to register the sim card.

One drawback is that 1-2-call cards are currently (1-2 months) having problems connecting with DTAC & Orange etc. keep giving network busy and other errors

Cause you have not called the service center and turned on roaming.

'Happy', part of DTAC do a 199baht joining pack incl. sim + 50 baht credit. calls within LOS are around 1 baht/minute though they do try to sell you some sort of add-on for free calls after 3? mins but it isn't worth it.
now get asked for ID - I gave driving licence and they faithfully recorded my name and what classes of vehicle I'm entitled to drive

I had no luck getting a sim card to work on my mobile phone that I brought from aus...I only just got it before travelling and apparently my mobile is locked into my mobile company back home and just woudnt work on anyones elses sim ,,well thats what they kept telling me anyway must of tried about 6

When I got a thai sim card for my mobile they had to unlock it then no prob.
So now as soon as get to Thailand I just switch the aussie sim for the thai sim.
I have found phone calls & texts from thailand to Oz are a far sight cheaper than Oz to thailand.
