Phuket Thailand

I’ve been reading this forum for a while now. I didn’t have to read many posts before I decided to go back to LOS. I’ve been in Phuket two times before, but my last visit was five years ago. Too long to be honest, but I had to try to get LOS out of my system.

I fell in love with the country and its friendly people during my two first weeks. I was seriously thinking about moving to Phuket for good. I spent hours in front of my PC looking for stuff about LOS. I was lucky that I found Stickman’s Guide to Bangkok. The information there made me return back to Earth.

It’s just 60 hours to my arrival in Phuket and I’ll stay for two weeks. I hope I’ll meet some BMs in MTB. It won’t be easy to pass all the cuties on my way to MTB, but I’m sure I’ll show up one of my first days in Phuket. I would like very much to play golf with some BMs during my vacation.

Hey Albatross.........Are you in Patong on a Thursday???..... the MTB boys play at Phuket Country Club most Thursdays......so check out the thread in MTB section

BTW you will need to get down to the bar and see the boys beforehand if you want an invitation............

And if you can really live up to your name the boys will be happy to see you...........provided you play off a negative handicap...........

Thanks guys for the welcome! I’ll let you know how things are in Phuket nowadays compared to five years ago. I’ll post my views when I’m back from LOS.

Hi Nelsonone. I’ll be in Patong two Thursdays I’ll be there July 13 and July 20. I’ve been keeping an eye on that thread for some time now. It looks like the guys have a lot of fun when they play. I’ll show up in MTB to try to get an invitation to join them.

I haven’t lived up to my name yet, but I’ve a dream to get an albatross one day. But I think it will be just that, a dream. I haven’t even had an eagle yet, but I’m sure that won’t be just a dream. I hope to fulfill that goal sooner rather than later. I don’t play off a negative handicap. I don’t think my handicap will ever be negative. Hopefully I’ll be a single handicapper this year.

I’ve read about the 9-hole course that the BMs are playing. It sure sounds scaring. After reading about the course I know I won’t bother bringing my own golf balls. I think I might need a bucket of golf balls. I just hate water hazards. I just can’t forget them when I’m making the shot. When you’ve that feeling you know you’re in trouble.

Yes the course has a lot of H2O.....but if you are nearly in single figres (Hcp) you will go ok.......l'm off 23 and almost broke 50 last (hit it in the water twice on the 9th hole

)

do yourself a favor and get down to MTB earlier in your trip. it will make your holiday so much better meeting uo with guys. even if its to stop by for a few, but if you get along with sopme of the bm's it really makes a difference
i did 2 trips before i really hung out at MTB and Love Bar, and as you can see, im not a shy person so no problem going on vacation alone, but doesnt compare to when you go and meet up with fellow bm's

I've noticed that the course has a lot of water hazards. I know my knees will be shaking when I tee off on the 1st hole, so I might have a couple of extra beers on Wednesday. I hadn’t started playing golf when I last visited Phuket, so this time I’m very keen on playing golf once or twice during my vacation.

If your handicap is 23 then it’s not that bad if you almost broke 50. Hopefully I won’t break 50 myself, but I’m not sure if I can avoid that. I know I’ll have fun whatever my score will be, so I hope there will be some BMs up for golf during my vacation.

Thank you very much for your tip. At the beginning I was more keen to go out and see what’s up, but now I’ve decided I’ll show up in MTB the very first evening no matter how tired I’m after my flight. I’ve to find a place where I can watch the soccer match between Germany and Portugal. I’m sure somebody at MTB can tell me where I can watch this match. Maybe I even meet some Germans in MTB that I can join for a few beers during the match.

Think I remember Nicke saying that the final will be on at 1.00am.......so at least you will be able to start out at MTB to watch it........not sure if they will be able to stretch out closing time enough for the finish....but Nicke and the guys at MTB should be able to sort you out there.....

Sorry I don't arrive until the morning of the 20th otherwise I'd be happy to have a game with you.......have you put your dates up in the members on Tour thread????.......if not be sure to do so and you will have plenty of company....

See you in MTB the night of the 20th if you are around...

The match Germany vs Portugal will be at 2 am Thai time...dont know if it is possible to see the end of the match at MTB.

I’m home after spending the last two weeks in LOS. I had a lot of fun during my stay in LOS. I met a lot of nice people and it was especially fun to meet some of the BMs. It’s more fun to read the threads in this forum when you’ve met the BMs.

So much I wanted to do during my holiday, but no time to do everything I wanted to do. It’s like that every time I go to LOS. I can’t believe I’ve stayed in LOS for two weeks. The holiday is over before you know it. Each time I’ve been there I wanted to go back ASAP.

Thanks to the BMs that made me feel welcome in LOS.
