Introduction
Greetings to all. I will be in Phuket for my first trip on 13 Jul and just found this site. Amazing amount of good information and I wish I had found it sooner. I didn't realize about the "joiner" fee and was wondering if anyone had info about the Impiana Cabana? I looked at the lists I could find but do not see it on the list.
Also, anybody have a recommendation (name) of transportation from the airport to the hotel. Trying to sift through as much as I can and get the chance to meet some folks when I am there. Finally, I am an American contractor working in Iraq and I am looking forward to a much needed vacation. Any and all suggestions are welcomed. Thanks

Welcome on board. Can´t say anything about the hotel you asked but i recommend to read the threads about transportation to the hotel. There is some kind of a limousine mafia at the airport which will try to get you to a different hotel or having several stops at shops they get percentages on the way to your hotel. Didn´t have this experience by myself as i used the hotel service to pick me up at the airport. The meter taxis are at a seperate parking place (described also in threads). I would always use the hotel service if available or the meter taxi´s. About the joiner fee it could be usefull to send a fax to your hotel and to ask if they take it for guests. Then take the confirmation with you if they confirm no joiner fee, so no discussions later. Wish you a nice trip

Hi and welcome to the board The hotel you're staying at is quite a nice hotel so there should be complementary airport transfer, but double check with your hotel. In the case of the joiner fee, some hotels have them some don't, an easy way to get around it is to check into to the hotel for 2 instead of one. Or you can just as easily check with your hotel so that there are no complications when you arrive. Have a great trip and i'm sure you'll enjoy your holiday, esspecially coming from iraq.

Time Is short
Thanks for the tip on checking in as two. I sent off an e-mail, but have not heard back about the fee. I am at the 7 day mark now and trying to decide if I should cancel the reservation to avoid the cancellation fee. I didn't find this board until yesterday and trying to cram as much info as possible.

Hi, welcome. Impiana Phuket Cabana is not GF. It asks a joiner fee of 1000 Baht or more. If you check in with a lady and you stay with, her there might not be a joiner fee, but if you arrive every night with another lady they might charge you. But you can send them a mail and try.
No complimentary airport transfer, you pay 800 baht.
I arrive Saturday in the Cabana for the 39th stay, so I should know, staying there since 1991 (no joiner fee then), been there allready 2 times this year.

Thanks Capt'n. I'll be there Tuesday night. Always appreciate the help navigating new waters. If you are up to helping a Newbie the first round(or two, three...) would be my pleasure.

Hi and welcome to the board... Hope you have a good time and let us know how it all goes on.... If you get an email from the hotel telling you there is a joiner fee/or not then take that confirmation with you incase they get a bit funny.........
All the best

Tvml3
Has anyone seen TVML3 at the TMB?? If you do, tell him to give Justice a call!! Also, let me know how he's holding up down there. I hope he doesn't wake up next to a curb one morning!!
