Intro and info required please
Hi all,
Im new to this forum although I have been reading it for quite a while. Just back from 3rd trip to LOS and spent the best part of a month in BKK. (bit of info for good cheep accom in BKK is World Residence serviced apartments Soi 58 Krungthonburi rd Klongtonsa, Klongsan about 15-20 mins 80-100 bht to cowboy,Nana etc or quicker and cheeper if you take a ferry and sky train. 8000bht for the month with AC, Cable TV, fridge, large beds, great staff and if you have a good long range WiFi airiel you can pick up heaps of unsecured internet connections. Appartments have A1 security, GF friendly, nice pool, resturant and a gym but who needs one of them in LOS).
Anyway spent a bit of time in Pattaya and Kanchanburi on the odd few days here and there (must say Pattaya prices seem to always be much lower than BKK has not changed much). I managed to again stay away from the BGs (except for the first night to get the blood flowing) and spent most of the time with Thai friends from previous visits which is handy as they always manage to introduce me to some one which is a big money saver. Met a girl and hit it off really well, even eneded up checking out of my appartment in the last week and shifted in with her (by the way she had a better TV and more movie channels in her Appartment). Nice to spend time with a girl that also buys you drinks and feeds you and yet still is happy for you you to do all the other things that people like to try when in LOS.
My main question is does anyone know the best way to go about getting an Australian tourist visa for a Thai girl? I want to bring her out to OZ at some time this year but checking Austrailain immigration web site it looks like it could be tricky. Does anyone have any contacts in BKK that can help with tourist visas or advice?
looking forward to getting back although that wont be for at least 12 months dues to work commitments, so if I cant be there my other option is to bring her here for a holiday.
cheers and hello

Hey Marc,
Yeah she is pretty keen to come over for a visit. I will get her to contact the emabassy but checking some of the countries imigration rules ours seem to be the hardest probably from the past history of Phillipino and thais being sponsored to come to oz on holiday visas then having thier passports taken off them by f****ed up farangs and being forced to work off huge debts for bringing them over (bulls***t amounts like AUD $40,000 in brothels for no money untill they paid off the debts it was a real scam for quite a while and still happens unfortunatelly) and makes it really hard for the people that legitamately want to bring a friend over for a visit and repay the hospitality that was given by them.
Marc thanks for the money advice but I have also been there too in the past not only in LOS but Vietnam and Indonesia I would really just like this girl to see and decide what she thinks of farang land, she may hate it which in a lot of cases is true as its a much bigger culture shock to them than us.

that would be great, I would prefer to pay a bit extra forsomeone who knows the system and how it works than go it alone and get knocked back. I think a knock back for any reason would make it really hard. Why cant people just go to a travel agent and say I want to go here! like you and I and there is no question, problem or drama

if she does get knocked back pirate, it becomes near impossible to try again ,so its important that you get it right the first time

I dont know about that.. Of the applications that were denied that I know of, all of them worked later if the couple kept trying.. One couple was actually told "try again in 6 months" etc.. Kind of proves your still together and serious and not only met last weekend.
I hear Oz is tougher than Europe but easier than US and maybe UK..
I listed a visa application company once on here.. Would need to search my posts to find it.
