ice hockey on TV in Patong?

Hi folks, new to the forum and moving to Patong in a couple of weeks. Odd question for sure, are there any places that show NHL or Russian Superleague hockey games on TV? I know it's unlikely, but just thought I'd throw it out there... Funny how I can stomach life without car, clothes dryer, or cheetos, but not the beginning of hockey season. Thanks!

Sorry not, I never seen any icehockey down here on any channel.

I got Swedish TV feed last year and thats why I could follow icehockey on Winter Olympics but forget about that on normal channels here.

Formula one, european soccer is widely available thought.

This year, thanks to my ADSL account I'm watching more ice hockey here in Thailand than I was ever able to watch in Canada. I'm a Leafs fan and I've seen every one of their first twelve 2006-07 season games. Actually, most of the games played on any given night are available for download. Of course, because they're downloaded, I'm seeing them the next day. That's okay, though -- it's pretty easy to stay away from the scores and nobody is walking around the office talking about "last night's game". Yes -- I'm in hockey heaven. You talk about the best of two worlds -- a late afternoon swim in the Thai sun followed by watching a hockey game.

If anybody is interested in finding out how to download the hockey games, send me a PM and I'll be happy to help.

On my first trip to Phuket back in 2000 I watched the Stanley Cup playoffs at a bar in Soi Crocodile I think? But it is very hard to find a place to watch it. You just have to have a walk around and see if you can get lucky!

Cheers,

Ashley

You know it buddy. Soi Croc was the first stop I made b4 I ever had heard about the Ladyboy phenomenon. Had a nice one sittin on my lap it took the Mrs. to tell me that she was infact a he. Didn't have the "eye" for it back then! And yes, I do love the hockey mate!

I remember seeing you walking around Beach road trying to get lucky.... you always seemed to have a smile on your face so I am sure it worked out for you!

Stay safe!!

Cheers,

Ashley

555555555 Yesssssss I remember now! You and your beautiful girlfriend were having a slap up meal at Savoy when I spied you. Which is just as well as I was popping back to the old PV with a rather tall lass with big hands at the time.

The reason I was talking to you through the bushes was simply a diversionary tactic to get her past un-noticed. She was crawling past on her hands and knees (To the amusement of other passers by) while I continued the diversion by engaging you and your lovely lady in idle chit chat.

I had given her the keys to my room and told her to meet me there. I do miss that camera, watch, MP3 player, wallet, various thongs and a small jar of hair gel.

5555555 Happy times. We'll have to do it again sometime. Oh! and thrash you at go-karting again!

I always wondered what you were up to that night.... and now I know! Good on ya there big fella! I thought you just wanted a sip of my diet coke!

I have been practicing my go-karting since you "taught me a lesson" and feel I am ready for the next Mai Thai Bar Grand Prix! If only we could teach Nicke how to use the accelerator on his go-kart we could really have a good race> It was getting sad watching us pass him on either side!

Cheers,

Ashley

Yes, that must have been a tad embarassing for the poor lad.

Next time we go could someone tell me about the acceleration on those things before I hit the pedal...........Thanks
