Gday all from a 1st timer.

Gday everyone,

how are we all? I have read alot from this forum and gotten alot of helpful hints.
Anyway i have booked my tickets and flying to bangkok for 2 days and then for a week in phuket. I can't wait and counting down the days.

My major concern as this is my first time is the weather. I've checked the weather broadcast latly and it shows the weather to be hot but very wet. I'm justwondering is everything still lively etc during the wet season.

Also i don't want to miss out on some of the day tours but not very sure if they will be running during the rain.

Welcome to the board, for the tours you'd def want good weather meaning clear skys and no rain as the tours are beautiful. When exactly are you coming? Its pretty 50/50 in the rainy season. October should be quite rainy but i'm not a weather man so just my prediction.

Happy reading

G'Day mate - welcome to the forum ......

No worries on the lively part - Patong is always lively .. rain, sun .... even the tsunami only stoped things for 3 days, so you wont find any lack of action.

One thing maybe worth noting - that for day trips (to Phi Phi for example) don't prebook - look at the weather the morning you want to take a trip because sometimes the sea crossings can be pretty stomach churning during stormy weather.

Enjoy yourself mate.

Gday as well and welcome.Been twice in Oct and its blessedly cooler than earlier on in the year, but still 30c or so and it tends to rain very predictably in the arvo for 4hrs or so but not every day.Note tour advice above but you'll have to be up at 7am to follow that advice. Plenty of partying always, go to the MTBar and introduce yourself loudly and you'll hve some mates to go "mongering" with. may miss you as I fly in on Oct 10.All the Best...( Id love to be there and watch your face as you walk down soi Eric for the 1st time, with all those girls trying to catch you....choose wisely!

Not as many ladies around in October but also not as many guys looking for ladies either.

You will have a good time. And when it is raining just a good excuse to take the lady back to your room early.
