Ive never been a good student but then again ive never tried either. 31! Hmmm... Thats no age nowadays is it?
Im 27b now buy feel like im 20. Considering the alternative with 8-16 hours work days every good damn day as a garbageman isnt that tempting so i desided to give this a real shoot! Packed my bags and left for the south of norway to start school! Its going ok so far, and ill have my first math test this friday.
Whenever im down and depressed and thinking about returning to the very cold north i think of thailand and know that if i finish this ill be in LOS in 4 years!
Thanks for the welcome people!

you are going to need to cut out the extra curricular recreational activities if you become a navigator. You will be tested all the time.

Thats not a problem anymore... Have nothing against people with these activities, but its not for me anymore. Afterall its hasj. Not like heroin or alcohol for that matter.
Right now and in the years to come the jobs u get are on seismick (spelling?) ships (looking for oil) and my job will probably be to navigate over the oil fields. I wont be the skipper or anything. If i get the job i want and its a good chance that i will since the oil and gas industry is booming again in Norway. And they are building boats like madmen. The competition for qualified workers is also booming and there is a good chance ill be offered a job before im finished with my studies.
Anyway im not a smoker anymore, and thats not a problem. Neither do i have a problem with me having smoked a few joints in my time. Its harmless and people should be able to smoke a joint now and then without being labeled as a drugaddict.
IF i was to smoke a joint on my days of, in amsterdam for example its not very difficult to find an excuse for a urin sample. " I was in coffee shop and wanted to see what the fuzz was all about. I didnt smoke myself but it was a a lot of marihuana in the air so i might have been a passive smoker." "Some people was smoking at the afterparty and ive been breathing in the smoke unintentionaly (spelling?).
" "Someone have put something in something that ive eaten to get me fired from my fantastic job!"
But that wont be a problem!

just meant that you have to be careful as lots more jobs are drug testing employees, especially like in a job where you will help navigate the boat, even if you aren't piloting it.
I used to do some recreational experimenting when I was younger but now I just get high on women and booze.
and you already learned your lesson in LOS and got off very easily so you know the score there.

For all means your absolutely right, and ive thought about this before i started this education. I cant plan my life upon my recreational activities. It aint that fun. Its just that i didnt handel alcohol to well when i was younger so i found a alternative... But im handling it better now especially when ive stopped drinking home made "vodka" Women and booze! thats a good recipe! Especially when in LOS!
But is it very unusual for falangs to smoke a little when in LOS? Since the thais always are offering it to us. As stated i used to be a garbageman and a couple of my workmates used to spend a couple of months in LOS, smoking like hell! Whats that all about? i guess they havent been arrested...yet.

Don't know much about the scene out there as I do not do it but have read other posts where other BM's have said it is really easy to get set up by someone and end up in a world of hurt.
