Hello

I've been checking out this site for awhile, and I appreciate all of the information and experiences that people have shared. There is a wealth of information on this site.

I'm heading to Thailand in November, and after reading the stories on this site, I'm excited about spending a couple of weeks in Phuket and checking out everything it has to offer.

I've been to Thailand twice in the past and spent the majority of my time on Koh Phan Ngan and Koh Tao, but I also spent a few weeks traveling through the northern areas like Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, and Pai. All of these spots were riteous, but I never took the opportunity to visit a BG.

I like to get away from the cities while in Thailand, so I'm thinking of starting out my stay in Phuket down in Karon. It sounds like they have a good mix of beaches, relaxation, and some night life. Is it difficult to catch a taxi to Patong for the evening?

Hey Welcome to the board!!!

There are tuk tuks that you can take from Karon to Patong. Last time i took a tuk tuk that distance cost me 200 baht. Not too sure what the tuk tuk drivers are charging now. Transportation from Karon won't be a problem. Enjoy your Holiday. Maybe this time you will enjoy the company of a nice BG...

Welcome Equestrian.
I March I stayed at the Hilton Arcadia in Karon. Took Tuk-Tuk proberbly 10-16 times between Patong and Karon. paid 250 once and 150 once and every other time it was 200.
Home assignment: calculate the average cost of a Tuk-Tuk between Patong and Karon.

Great Info

It sounds like MrDK is an expert on shuttling back and forth between Karon and Patong. Thanks for the information.
