9pm might be a bit too early , its busyer after 10-11-00pm

Yeah 9pm is a bit early. But its a regular newbie thing to turn up WAY too early on the first night. Most bm's do it the first time, even after reading the board before they leave. I know I did.

Still, you might get lucky and find a few there as well as the 'normal' staff. (Especially me, if I wasn't that drunk the night before and/or im bored or eaten quicker than usual.).

Besides, as someone else said recently, if you get there early-ish, it can give you time to settle and get to know other BM's when they arrive. It can be quite intimidating getting there late when the bar is packed, and then trying to introduce yourself.

welcome newtothis......check out the golf thread in MTB section of the board and towards the time post in it when you will be about.......a few of the locals including Nicke, Dodger + Dunc1 play most Thursdays.....but i think they might have been a bit slack lately........
