Hi,

I've just got a Thai sim card and 300 baht AIS card and my calls to the UK don't seem to be much cheaper than my UK Orange sim. Are there any carrier numbers I can dial first to reduce the cost?

Also, do Thai numbers expire and go back into circulation if you don't use them? Seems mine will expire in December if I fail to keep it topped up! Any way to keep your number forever?

Tirak told me to put 009 before the number, never found out how much cheaper it was because after doing this for awhile she then told me to get an international dialling card, after doing that for awhile she told me to just get another promotion from the telephone company, did that and its cheaper but heck knows what she will tell me to do next!!!!

i have no clue, but all i know is you can make a ton of drunken phone calls to the US on a 100baht card!!

What exactly are we taliking about here ? Calls from the UK to Thailand or vice versa ?

From UK to Thailand I can say I got a very well working number which got me a overall 36 hours call for only 70 Pound Sterling.

And that's a lot of blabbling away

Read the original post, calls TO the UK from Thailand. Just for your info, you can use the cheap carriers from the UK and calls cost 1p or 2p per minute to Thai mobiles, why would anyone talk non stop for 36 hours???? that is a lot of blabbing or 'big ploblem'!!!!!!!!!!
