Anyone suggest a good hotel in Patong?

ONLY JOKING!

Just a quick newbie hello. I've been lurking for a few days and thought I'd better show my face.

Been to LOS a few times but not since '99 and not to Phuket. Looking at coming in a couple of weeks and staying for about 6 weeks. God bless China Airlines with their cheap tickets still being available.

Will be travelling all over but will almost definitely be in Phuket for Chrissy. Tossing up between Koh Phan Gang and Patong for New Year's depending on just how much insanity I'm up for after a month on tour!

Anyway, thanks for all the great info I have been leeching and keep up the good work.

K

Have a good trip... Don't forget to check out the MTB in Patong...

I am looking forward to pulling up a stool myself shortly....

Well, that was a different introduction... In fact, it took a while before I opened the thread as I would not be able to help you with your request.

Welcome to the board and hope to see some postings after your trip.

After I wrote it I thought sh1t, no one is going to even bother looking! At least a couple of you did!

Thanks for the well wishes and I will definitely be stopping in to MTB. In fact I'll get a print out of all the BM bars and make sure I do the rounds.Hope to meet a few of you when I'm there.

Anyone considering a quick dash over for chrissy/new years, China Airlines is still doing tickets from London for around £450 and returns in early Jan are still available. What better Xmas present for yourself! Go on, you know you want to!

Looks like I'll be flying in on the 28th of November and out around the 5th of Jan.

That's a nice long tour. Will overlap some of my time there.

Which hotel have you booked?

Nothing yet, so I may be struggling a bit. Have been waiting on a couple of mates to decide their dates and one has now pulled out. I will book within the next few days regardless of what they do.

Was thinking of Honey in BKK and Vech in Patong over Xmas if they are still available. I'm not into spending loads of cash on hotels, prefer to swim in the sea to a pool and usually sleep with a fan and no airco on so those places should do me nicely for a longer trip like this.

very good

I'd recommend the hotel with a roof around the corner from MTB!
