Welcome to the forum Bannerman. Lots of Irish guys signing up this week hehe.
Plenty of good info for you here to read up. Just a thought, if you do have a question, try using the Search function at the top of the main page. It should help you find a thread or two to help you.

Banner,

Welcome to the board. Hope you and your wife have a great trip.
What was the "" all about?

I will be in Ireland next week on a quick business tour Shannon, Cork and Dublin. Will only have Thursday evening to check out Dublin a bit.

Hi MrDK, ever been to Ireland before? Are you going to have any time for pleasure when over here. I live a 45 min drive from Shannon so if your down my neck of the wood's feel free to contact me. We could have a pint of the black stuff on a hi stool and chat about LOS.

I will be flying into Shannon Tuesday for a short meeting then off to Cork for a same day meeting. Wed I fly to Dublin. Thursday evening I am on my own in Dublin; all business until then. I was in Ireland in August and other than enjoying the beautiful drive from Dublin to Cork via Waterford, it too was all business.

I flew Dub -> LHR -> KL -> BKK with Malaysian airlines from London. It was €780 return, valid for a month. I used Cheap Flights, Package Sun Holidays, Late Breaks, Discount Deals @ Clubtravel.ie who were the cheapest at the time. It would probably be a wee bit cheaper to fly from London and make your own way there but I don't think there was a big difference in price at the time. My bags went straight through to BKK too.

The Dynasty Inn Grande in Bangkok is a good hotel... I stayed there for about a week... Very hard to find fault with it. See: :: Welcome to Thailand, Welcome to Dynasty Inn::

Air Asia is a safe bet too!

Have an Offaly nice time! LOL!

Pad, had a good look at all option's including Cheap Flights, Package Sun Holidays, Late Breaks, Discount Deals @ Clubtravel.ie & price's are around €990 pp to BKK from Snn.
Went to Miami in Sept with BA from Snn via Lhr and found them good. When booking flt's also booked hotel, got a good deal and BA phoned after hotel check inn to find out if all was ok. Will prob go BA to BKK, only snag is you burn the cc when booking online and also need to take out travel insurance.

You don't have to take the travel insurance offered when you book your fare online. You can book it before your flight from anywhere, even buy it at the airport in Boots the Chemist if you must. Its not compulsory to buy travel agents insurance.

Hi Dawsey, thank's for the tip. I get my holiday insurance thro the job which is a saveing of 50% over t/a's etc. As i will be booking flight's online & paying in full i take out the insurance at the same time.
