Short intruduction..
Hi.
Just wanted to say 'hello' to all you BM's and introduce myself.. I live in Copenhagen Denmark, I've been in Thailand 6 times, and visited Bangkok, Pattaya, ChangMai, ChangRai, and Phuket.
I LOVE to travel and have been around the globe.. Have visited USA, Australia, GB, Thailand, Mexico, Canada, almost all of europe, China, and more places i dont remember right now..
Have read alot on the board, and allready feel like i know some of you guys..
Im going to Phuket again on december 8th, and will stay until january 8th.
I'll of course come by MTB and see some the BM's..
Now I have a question: I have read about HHH (Hash House Harriers) and i did see their website.. I still dont know what its all about??? Running and drinking beer seems to be 2 nice things to combine, but is that it??
Shall i bring my runningshoes?
I'm staying at Mermaid Hotel in Karon. I know they have the best burger on the island, but are there anything else you can tell me about that hotel? Do they accept guests in my room?
Brgds, Elmer.

I have heard, but don't know for sure, that the first time you go on a Phuket HHH meet, it is important to wear NEW shoes! I think Nicke can confirm this?

Nice introduction, Thank you.
I noted that you are staying in Karon. Have you stayed in Karon before and if so how did you find the 'hassle' of commuting to Patong?
I have been to Phuket just once on a trip that did not include Patong night life and I stayed at the Hilton in Karon. On my next trip, which will include the Patong night life, I have a choice of a free stay at the Hilton in Karon or getting a hotel in the heart of the action for a few K baht. A free room on the executive floor is nice, but if it get you too far out of touch and create a big hassle, it may not be worth it.
Yours or anyone else's input is welcome.

I stayed at another hotel in Karon on my last trip to Phuket. At that trip I ate at "Little Mermaid Hotel" and was told that they only charge 595 bath for a a/c room. And thats the same price all year! I booked at their website, and sure enough.. 595 bath a day..
Regarding the commute, i plan on renting a bike. I dont drink that much, so riding to patong and back is no problem..
