Hi All,

Happy New Year to all from Australia, although it's not actually New Year yet everywhere.

My name is Charles, and I separated 3 years ago. I have spent every holiday since travelling to New Zealand where my kids live.

But not the next one! Always had the thought of a Thai holiday (LOS as I learnt yesterday). So it's booked - 2 weeks at Easter. First time in Thailand. I know it will be hot but its the only time I could get off work.

There is so much information on the net but a lot of it is out of date. But this forum is different - some of the info is only hours old.

I was planning Bangkok and Pattaya but Patong is sounding better all the time.

Anyway, that's all for now and thanks again for the info.

You won't be disappointed if you choose Patong for your first LOS holiday.

I'll be there myself at Easter, so maybe I'll catch you for a few cold ones.

Its not turned midnight in the UK, but a Happy New Year to you too

Welcome from another Ozzie...you will enjoy Thailand and this forum has some great info. If you haven't found an answer to a question after searching, there are a great deal of Bm's who will know the answer or will help.

Hope you enjoy your trip (not hard actually). Gives you 4 months to plan. There is a ton of good information on this board. Search and poke around and you will find most of what you are looking for; and perhaps some you weren't.

I have 96 days to go, not that I'm counting down!

I know I'll have a good idea of where to stay and go by then. Already getting a fair idea.

oh and by the way if you go to mtb at night when iltis is there take your sunglasses so you don't get camera flash blind
