Apply for a tourist visa at Thai embassy/consulate, double entry will give you 6 months stay. (You have to go to border after 3 months)

What you got when you came here was presumably not a tourist visa.. Thats a visa you apply for before you come here and is valid for 60 days entry and can be extended for 30 days..
I assume you have a visa waver stamp which given 30 days in Thailand without any visa being applied for. You may use this system for a maximum of 90 days in a 180 day period.
Go and get either a single entry tourist visa (one time use of 60 days and 30 extension) from a local SE Asian consul or embassy or go and get a double or triple entry back in your home country.

It sounds like you have got a 1 month "stamp" and not a visa.
Visitors from some countries are allowed to enter Thailand without a visa and they have their passport stamped. This stamp lasts for 30 days and then you must exit. This stamp is not a visa and you are only allowed a maximum of 3 stamps in a 6 month period.
I don't know your details, nationality etc, but suggest you do a search on google to look at the requirements for entering Thailand and what you can get. I am British and as such hold a British passport and therefore every time I enter Thailand I get a 30 day stamp. If I want to stay for longer than 1 month, then I can apply oin the UK for a visa from the Thai Consulate. There are several different visas that I could apply for depending on my circumstances, reason for visit etc.
You need to have a look at the website of the Thai Consulate in the country that you are a national of and see what visas are available to you.
There is a lot of info at this site that might help...

The current rules are supposed to actually count days not stamps.. Hence a weekend warrior can come into Thailand every weekend from sing or honkers and not get blocked out by the 3 stamp rule after only being in country for 6 days or similar situation..
Though as these days are counted manually and revolve around month ends and rolling 180 day periods its all a mess..

I assume that since the poster gives his location as Iran , he is that nationality. Therefore , he is not elegable for a "Tourist Visa Exemption" (stamp in passport on arrival) nor is he elegable for a "Visa on Arrival". So I guess he got a 30 day visa before leaving his home country.
My best guess is that he would have to leave the country and apply for another "proper" visa , don't know if all embassies/consulates would issue a one.
Here is the link to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , which has details of visa's etc.

OK so hes on a VOA..
Aame info still applioes he needs a tourist visa issued from outside of Thailand.. Local SE Asian embassies are only giving singles now..
Combining 3 visa runs for 30 days each and a single entry tourist with 60 day extension would give 6 months stay..

You're right Faulty old chap, you just beat me to it !!
(Assuming you are Iranian holding an Iranian passport, then you cannot enter Thailand without a visa).
For more details on what types of visa you can get, look at this site...

But now I'm starting to smell a rat, or should I say a "large mouses" ??

If he is Iranian he is not eligible for VOA and must therefore be on a "real" tourist visa.

Strange.. I just checked and Iran is as you say not on the 41 country visa waiver list.. However it also not on the Visa on arrival (VOA) list either !!
So he shouldn't have been allowed entry at all without a pre applied visa if he is Iranian.
Also VOA's are 15 days usually..
Please dont confuse the stamp that says allowed to stay until with a visa.. Different things. Visa's are one of 3 types a non immigrant (O B ED Etc), a Tourist visa (60 days per entry issued in single double triple and very very rarely quad), and a transit visa.

Very strange.. can only attribute the problems to your nationality..
A tourist visa gives 60 days entry stamp.. Also each time an entry is used thats it and the tourist visa is expired.
I suggest going and getting one in Penang.
