Which Is Best ?
Just finalizing dates for month long stay in patpong, undecided between yorkshire inn & summer breeze, both gf and priced about the same, although the yorks looks a little bit nicer. Have any of the bms stayed at both and have a preference, or any other info about both hotels. I'm going a wee bit mental at the minute, I can't wait to get there. looking forward to buying a few rounds in the MTB

I have stayed at Summer Breeze quite a few times and would definately recommend it , Bill the owner (BM name: billpay) and his staff are great. Rooms are good and service is excellent. Here are some pics of their "Summer Suite".

Haven't stayed at Yorkshire , so can't comment personally , but friends who have say they prefer Summer Breeze. Lots of comments/opinions from BM's in this thread :

Last November I stayed in the Summer Breeze and have no regrets whatsoever. I used their airport transport option too and had a standard room, which had all I needed. They are very gf and treat your lady nicely too. Their staff is awesome and will do everything to let you enjoy your stay.
Many BM's use this place.
I do not have any experience with the Yorkshire Inn, but there is a thread somewhere here, which might give you some further info.

Yorkshire Inn not as good
Friends of mine who booked in the Yorkshire inn over New years were not happy and moved hotels.

I have also been told that the Yorkshire Inn is having a few problems with room cleaning and theft of belongings. Someone I knew moved out after a night.

Stayed a lot in Summer Breeze. Good value for the money.
They have excellent staff/service, and a very good restaurant.
Had a look at one of the rooms in Yorkshire inn, might be a bit fancier. Never stayed there myself so dont know much about the service.

I have stayed at the Yorkshire inn about 6 times now and never had any problems, i would not have any problem staying there again, i think the food is also excellent, and watching only fools and horses and other british comedies in the afternoon and early evening suits me fine.
The only small problem i did have was when a group of young english boys were in and did make quite a bit of noise, but this can happen at any hotel.
I suggest you try and make up your own mind, although looking at this thread i guess SB will be the first choice.
If your there for a whole month i have no doubt i will see you sometime.

Yep got to give my vote to Summer Breeze, hands down easily the best Hotel, when taking into consideration, service, food, ambiance, rooms etc and on top of this there has been quite a few problems at the Yorkshire, to a point when a well known BM here suggested we boycott it, think that was perhaps a little strong as there is always two sides to every situation but..............

Bill(pay) is a BM here and his great staff are perhaps the best in Patong -- if you can get in Summer Breeze - stay there! - just read the TR's and recomendations of Faulty Towers, Easy Rider and the many BM's who go back there again and again.
If S-B is full and Bill not able to accomodate then try Sheila's Guest House also on Soi San Sabai - she's a very good cook.

Stayed in Yorkshire Inn a few weeks ago.
The nightshift was a pain in the ass, and told a girl I brought (in thai, of course) that I had another girl the night before. She got quite upset.
My first night there he told me I didn't live there! He found my passport copy, but I almost didn't get in.
I think you can get a lot better rooms for 1800 bath a night, and my room was very small and claustrophobic (The Large Double Room). Got a much bigger and better room for 595 bath/night in karon.
But the breakfast were good, and the rest of the staff is very nice.

How big is SB? I mean: A lot of rooms?
Seems like å place I might wanna check out on my nest trip. Is it usually a problem to get room in short time there at this time a year?

well it is very popular with BMs and can be booked out all year round so best to book as soon as you know your dates.......
has 4 levels with looms (downstairs is bar/reception, services and dining...no looms) and about 10-12 looms per level........I guess
You do get free access to Baan Benjamins pool (ticket provided at reception)which is about 70 meters down the soi........and around the corner....very nice and large pool with reastaurant bar attached........

Oh NO! Tip-toeing past the Summer Breeze again! Trying to get past the place in a covert style way, waiting until a 4x4 goes past and hiding behind that! (or hiding behind the antenna if your Gollum!) False noses in this heat!!! Tch!!!
Far too many BM's at the Summer Breeze Tch! Reckon Dodge will have to find a new parking spot!
Good to hear you are sorted out Frank..........Not long to go now!
Have a good one

I wondered why I saw a man in a thong combat-rolling down the road when I was eating my dinner last week.
But was the camo-print thong really worth it?

Just to add to what I said previously, I have only heard other people's opinions on both places as I have never actually stayed in either, But in all the stories I have heard about the two, Summerbreeze as I said have got the better reviews, Only one bad thing I remember someone mentioning to me, Was that there was no lift, So if you are on the 3rd or 4th floor, Its a lot of steps to climb after a night on the lash, Actually its a lot of steps to be climbing period, If your a lazy bastard like me who likes to conserve his energy for more important things

I think that is the case with all the guest houses on Soi Sansabai.
I stayed at Hotel Orchid Residence last time, I was on the 4th floor. Girls werent happy walking up there each night. Had to carry a few of them on my back. Quid pro quo, because we swapped positions about 15 minutes later

cheers Allbabba, good point about the stairs,I think I may have 2 solutions
no 1 Is only b/f girls from the high country, you know sturdy in leg and
strong of back. Used to uphill graft carring aged uncles up and down
mountains. Now I realise that cuties with this background may be thin
on the ground so........
no 2 Is maybe hire st or even better sst ( about 20 mins) a bigole ladyboy
to follow me and skinny legged, skinny backed honey back to hotel,
carry me and cutie up the stairs for a few baht.
What do you think, failing that instead of having 1 bg a night I could have 2 bgs every other night and they could share the/me load,
I think I may have cracked it !!!!!
