New to forum....saying Hi

Hi,

As this is my first post here I would like to shout a Hi to everyone.

I'm going to be in Thailand in May for the first time and found this forum in a google search. Seems to be loads of great information and I guess I have plenty of reading in front of me.

I was planning on booking a holiday through a tour company but after reading here I think a flight only is the best option. Just need to find a girl friendly hotel close to the action and I'm sorted.

I've done a fair bit of traveling through Africa but for some reason I'm a bit nervous about this trip......I wonder why.

Cheers....

Cheers.....

Wellcome on board No need to be nervous, just read this forum thoroughly and then meet up with fellow BM's in Patong and you will be all set and you will have a blast! That is exactly what I did on my first trip last July

Welcome to the board. I'll be arriving in LOS the end of May so maybe we'll get to meet at MTB. You're definitely ahead of the game by figuring out which are the girl friendly hotels BEFORE you get to LOS. I didn't have that same foresight but in the end I was able to sort things out without too much trouble. The link that someone posted earlier is excellent and a must-read before deciding on a hotel in Phuket IMHO. Once again, welcome and hope your trip is all you expect and more.

Good decision... Just get the flight only option from the UK. Lots of useful links in the Acc/Transport forum. Book a hotel in advance too. They're cheap and numerous all over Thailand. As you probably know already.

Have a good trip.

PS. Cool name.

Cool Welcome

The name "sicknote" reminds me of Navy Medics and all their tender loving care.

Hope to see you when you get here.

HI,

Im new to this forum and i'm glad i found it there's loads of great info here that i couldn't find anywhere else,so instead of me starting a new thread to introduce myself ill just use this one.

My friend and i are heading to LOS for 11 weeks on march 29th,we'r both 26 and we've been to a few places around the world but we've heard so much about LOS that we just have to go there.

Were flying into Bangkok in march and just getting a connecting flight from there, what we dont know is to where, either koh samui or phuket were kinda thinkin koh samui because we want to go to the FMP,but from reading in other threads on the forum samui doesn't have many BG's,and the ones that are there does anybody know the BF?

We are going to be around LOS for nearly 3 months so if any BM's have any advice on what to do and see places to go etc it would be a great help.

Thanks in advance.....

Damien......

One issue is that you can be refused to board your airplane if you dont have an outbound ticket (by air) from Thailand inside the 30 days your admitted until.

Currently the rules are that your allowed 90 days (on visa wavers.. No pre applied) in any 180 day period.. So for 77 days (11 weeks) you could just do two border runs on days 30 and 59 (you lose one days as the day you visa run counts on both stamps.. Each stamps is 30 days inclusive)..
