Phuket and Bangkok
I am new to this forum which had so much info it's great!
I am going to LOS for the second time landing in Phuket on March 18th. Just wondering if it's worth spending three days out of 18 days in Bangkok at the end of my trip or if i am better off spending the whole trip in Phuket
Any thoughts?

Bangkok's great, nobody should miss it. Don't forget oxygen if you're asthmatic. Oh, and always look both ways before you cross the road, even if nothing seems to be coming.

I think you've confused Krung Tep with a well known Thai cigarette brand. Anyway, welcome to the board, BR.

No problem, MB. The same questions serve to remind me of what I'm missing.

Welcome to the forum MB
Be sure to look into Mai Thai Bar in Soi Eric after 9.30 - 10pm (5th bar down on the right as you enter Soi Eric). Introduce yourself to Nicke (forum and bar owner) and he will point out other forum members. You'll be sure of a good welcome there

Do it
Welcome to the board. Like many of the BM's have already said it is worth spending a few days in Bangkok. It has a lot to offer whether you are travelling alone or with others. It is an attack on the senses at times but an enjoyable experience nevertheless. Do it!

as others have said, if you haven'y been to Bangkok before, it is defintiely worth it for a few days. There are plenty of tourist sites like the Grand Palace and Reclining Buddha at Wat Po, and the National Museum (which has tours given in english on Tues/Wed) to keep you busy. Lots of nightlife too. I recommend Coliseum on Sukhumvit Soi 58:
Micro Breweries

Only my opinion, MB, but I think Bangkok sucks. It's a polluted metropole a la world class with all the attendant aggravations. To be sure, there are things to see, like in any other big city but you're not missing much if you step straight into a taxi to Pattaya or a plane to Phuket. The air's cleaner and your cash will stretch further.

Take one evening to visit Sky bar at the top of State Tower in Silom area while you are in Bangkok.
There is also a restaurant, Sirocco, pricey but worth the experience.
But just having a drink there, with the open sky above and the view of Bangkok around you is an experience you should allow yourself!

Yes to Bangkok. You should go at least once. Stay on Sukhumvit, one of the lower sois. The Majestic Grande is nice and guest friendly, also to blocks from NEP. Get a MTB pass and explore the city.

You windin'? The guy probably has never been there before! It's one of the major Asian/World Capitals and I would recommend ANYONE to go there for a look around... I thought it a great experience. A city with a unique Vibe and Edge to it. He's not asking about retiring there RR.... FFS!
Oh, and welcome to the board mike_boogie! IMO GloryFan made a good post.
Steady as she goes.

my advice would be to hit BKK first......and just blow it out of yur system.....
after a relaxing couple of weeks of partying and lazing in the sun in Phuket you probably won't want to explore a new city and appreciate all it has to offer

If you are going just for the girls, then Bangkok is the place to be... also a lot to do in the daytime... just don't stay too long as it might become a bit too much to take... pollution, congestion, etc... Bangkok girls are the prettiest in Thailand. Phuket... Pattaya don't hold a candle. But, at the same time it depends on what you are after...

Mike, I made an error on my previous post. It should be a pass for the BTS, the skytrain. It's a great way to get around Bangkok.
