Agree with LIL, should hide the other sections. It is just a p*ss off if you can't get in there. But people should just get active anyway.
Bello Uomo, don't give away all the Level 2 secrets!!!!!!! Japanese p*cker, there will be a mad post rush now!

dbaron, I thought your beef was well founded, but at the same time I agree with the current rules and the reasons why... you once had access to certain threads, and then all of a sudden you were locked out. I guess there was no way to grandfather the new rule in... I'm actually surprised it took this long for someone to go into a rant like this (good recovery though) as there must be loads of registered users with less than 25 posts.
I don't agree with hiding things though... no incentive to make 25 contributions if you can't see the discussions you are missing by not doing so.

Thanks Tan Man
I didn't mean to rant but I think its a great forum and it should not be limited to people that are new. How can you be a part of it if you are limited. I respect everyones privacy but a forum does not work unless it is open

As I have said before levels are not the point it should be open to everyone that is adult and has is interest in Thailand. If you want to make it a boy's only club don't be in the public domain with with your web site.

I am a member of a few different forums, and most (if not all) of them having a minimum post requirement before you can 'unlock' premium areas of the forum. So what you see here is hardly different.
And in case you havent noticed, most of the blokes here are not talking about sunflowers, pottery and basket-weaving, so I think a bit of extra protection (as IJ put it) is a welcome thing.
Anyway, I've done my dash with this thread. I truly am over it. I hope you find all the information you need for planning your trip, but I am pretty sure you won't find it in L2.

They are invisible, I just verified that.
But my php script on the website's main page showing forums threads is not fixed yet thought.

Poked around the forum. Here is some stats for you.
There are 3142 registered users.
There are 652 registered users with 25 posts or more.
There are 47 threads in Level 2 General and Nightlife.
There are 7516 threads in the Level 1 General and Nightlife area.
So IMO, there are a lot of people with Level 2 access, yet almost all of the info is in Level 1. I was surprised by these numbers.

I don't give a sh-t if you are over this thread Bello Uomo
it is reality that if you don't know everyone on this site personally you are second rate. Maybe you should take the stick out of your ars-e and and realise your not the only person that visits Thailand, and wants to know whats going on which is why forums exist.

Your message doesn't make sense. I don't understand
BTW, your welcome for running the numbers to show you weren't missing out on any important content for your trip planning. Now you have posted up to Level 2 access, you can confirm that for all the sub 25ers.

With regret I have to say that I get a little bit sick and tired of the way you add your comments dbaron. I know it it the Newbies section and I shouldn't flame you, but it is difficult not to do it.
You only just joined this forum. There are guys here that either control this forum to the best of their abilities, or write a lot of valuable posts. Of course, there are long time members who know each other for quite some time and therefore joke each other too. This should be respected.
Those same long time members are also willing to give you the helping hand should you need some special information. I have experienced that often enough in the time I am a member here.
So I just recommend you to either obey the rules of this forum or discontinue your membership. If you decide to stay on, I would really welcome you, but then please use this forum as it is meant to be. A place where good guys and girls come together, share their views on LOS and everything it has to offer and finally have a good time together.

Agree, this is surprising info. But, I just thought it was also surprising that (according to your data here) there are 2,500 members that had access to something a few weeks back and now do not. And only one rant so far....
