Angry sick of your restrictions

I have been using your site for several weeks now and find your bullshite restrictions very very fing bllsht. I have read read your website for hours.
Do you want people to be a part of your site or do you want a closed shop for a selected few of your buddies. If someone is interested in your site along with Thailand why would you limit info to your mates. I love thailand and all about it but your attitude to the the number of post reading info is f--d. Why don't you realise we are all adults here and grown up. I thought protected societys went out with the mafia. 4 or 5 posts should be enough to show your interest. I was soo keen on visiting MFB when we get to LOS. Now I don't think I will Bother????????????????????????

Point

The original poster has a point.

The automotive press has a term: gimmickry. Things like moveable airfoils which are technically neat, give car-guys a hard-on, but add zero to the average driver's experience. Plus they are expensive and complicated, not to mention pretentious.

The board might be best served guarding against these tendencies.

I believe it was 100 originally but then dropped down to 25 to be more inclusive of all members.

This site has to reflect local attitudes and sensitivities. I've cross the line on a few posts and rightly got my peepee smacked. When the heat comes down here it comes hard and fast. Not fair for all that to fall on Nicke.

That vast bulk of info is still in the general sections. You're not missing too much. 650 members have 25 posts or more. Not too much of a private club.

You're only 13 posts away. Make a few more posts telling us why you love thailand or ask some questions for your up coming trip. You're almost there!

mmm.. you obviously enjoy this site by the time you have spent on it .. its not a closed shop.. but a open forum.. you can express an opinion or offer some geniune insight on your experience (if any) on thailand.. and if you are really grumpy i am sure there are other forums you can annoy.

I agree with dbaron (minus the attitude!). Im a bit frustrated. As a newb planning my first trip Im struggling to get 25 posts after 2 months. The site is so comprehensive all questions are already answered. I don't want to post meaningless rubbish just to get my count up.....

Maybe this forum is for mates to be able to post and share with other posters..

Theres reasons behind it all.. Advertising.. Site revenue conflicting with adult posts.. Senior members wanting to have an area to post things where only other contributors can view..

OK but the vast majority of the forum is still open.. Only more adult areas are kept private and lets face it 25 good posts can only take a day or two of reading..

Would make more sense to have the restricted sections invisible until post count is high enough..

Because maybe some of us would like some of our experiences not to be indexed on the search engines and documented for the whole world ??

Google revenue pays for the site.. Google said they would pull the Adsense revenue if the site wasnt cleaned up.. The only way to clean it up is to seperate it so the non adult stuff can be indexed.. Simple really.

IMO, the most relevant info for trip-planning is in the General and Accomm/Transport sections, which you can access right now.
