Question Kata Noi ->Kata?

Any ideas, how muc is a taxi/tuk-tuk from Kata Noi/Katathani to Kata center for 2 persons? Or is that walking distance (and are the road good for walking between Kata Noi-Kata)?

I hitnk there aren't lost of shopping+eating places in the Katathani area?

Walked it once.........never again

hi

I walked it once and its a good distance I'd guess about 3 to 4Km, also you have to go up/down some steep hills on the route.

I tend to walk alot on my holidays and I got a taxi back as its something I wouldn't do again in the heat and humidity its a punishment walk not an enjoyable one.

If I recall the taxi was something like 200bhat but that was 2005 and daytime run. Taxis wait outside the main enterance to Katathani but and no doubt charge prices to reflect the hotel rates. I think there was a price list board up on a pole at the taxi rank ...

hope it helps

You won't have to go all the way to Kata Center for food now. There is quite a bit in Kata on the south end now. That would only be about 1-1.5K.

If you are just staying in Kata, you could consider getting a bike for whipping around the area.

I found the maps of Kata/Karon deceptive. Something that didn't look far turned out to be a LOT further when I walked - I should say strolled it. I am pretty fit and used to walking, but I got caught out a few times by the distances.

I suggest a taxi to get your bearings, look at the map and judge for yourself.

Walking distance? Its a 20 minutes ride with taxi or maybe 15 min. with a crazy tuk tuk driver.And as said before you have to walk up the hill to kata.If you arnt a marathon man its not really walking distance. I paid always 300 bath one way, tuk-tuk or taxi.I stayed in the katathani resort and they offer a bus shuttle, but its only to phuket town free.Also you have to order a taxi seperate at the reception (this is not a free shuttle imho). Kata Noi beach is beautiful, but if you like to go out in Patong almost every night its better to stay closer.Katathani also isnt GF friendly , no way to take a girl back to your room!!! But a nice hotel with great pools.

I think maybe you misread the question Shark

The OP was not asking the distance from Patong to Kata, but Kata Noi to Kata. Quite a big difference

So one way ride is 200b in day time?
Is this 200b per person? We are 2 persons, so it would be 400b per way total?

How about the night time price? Is that much higher? And when does the night time prices start? 9pm? Or earlier/later?
