French speaking bargirl?

Hi everybody,
I will be in Phuket only 2-3 days on vacation and of course I want to get the most of it. The information provided on this site is great, still I have a few ones unanswered....
Does anyone knows a bar/go-go/disco where the bargirls can speak French?
In advance many thanks,
Giuseppe

The only girls I know that talk anything other than Thai and English are those with boyfriends from a particular country. I have heard a little bit of French, Italian or German from time to time but only the odd word or two.

Don't set your sights too high, remember that the majoirity of these girls are simple working girls most of whom (if not all of them) have not finished their education and come from farming villages.

There are no specific bars or go gos or nightclubs were you will find french speaking thais congregating. So it is hit and miss, you will only find a THAI girl who has some knowledge of French because she has had a french, swiss etc boy friend.

Consider how stupid/naive your question is, by me asking you where in France will i find Thai speaking french people!!!

Not so far fetched though, dodger, I once shared a taxi with an old Vietnamese couple who spoke French. Maybe it's more common in Nam and Laos.

if you are looking for french speaking BG's simply because you worried if they dont speak your language you might have problems getting on etc...i would'nt worry. even if they don't speak french you'll get on just fine...believe me. these girls are very adaptable.

i just dont undestand why you guys have to be so negative
the guy has never been to thailand probably and doesnt know what to expect
maybe by asking this question and people giving him helpful responses instead of calling him stupid he might realize he will need to at least sharpen up his English skills
you guys forget you were once newbies also

You cant compare Vietnam and Thailand, French is fairly common in Vietnam.

There's a place in BKK called Franco-gogo......it's basically this big gogo bar where all the girls speak fluent French. They are all mega hot as well.

Ha hah, not so fast with the merit marks Paul.

I wasnt feeling tetchy that day I actually had to laugh at the original question but even more so by the reply from RR as he pointed out he met an ol nam couple in a taxi as if that was the solution for the op. I was actually finding the posts about the funniest I had read for ages.

My original comment stands and the valid question, where would you expect to find thai speaking french people in France and if there was some it would be isolated as in the reply from LosD, he knows of one club in the whole country. I am sure that there is a thai community in France, possibly around thai restaurant somewhere but as for finding Thai speaking frenchies? but if someones reply had ben, oh I met an old swiss couple in a taxi in Paris that spoke thai, how would it help?

While English is the international language for contract law and airlines I thought French was the international language of ………… you know………. when you like a girl and she likes you, and you and her, well you know.
I’m sure you won’t find a problem because most guys and girls can work out it because……….
Damn it! Just buy the girl a drink and cross your fingers.
See sign language can be fun and then you ………you know.

Maybe

Enjoy the trip.

Hi David

Besides Baya go along to Crazy Horse in the Tiger complex.Owned by a few French guys there are always a lot of French people around who will probably be able to point you in the right direction.Always stunning Thai Birds dancing there, but be warned that they are generally not cheap, neither is the bar.

Otherwise go down to Chez Barnard's restaurant no 6 on the beach-long haired surfer/hippy type of guy. He's part of the furniture around Phuket

Slimbag, Georgelondon, faultytowers, marc26, Losdelights, shwaygweilo, Thinwhiteduke, many thanks for your kind answers and usefull information.

Dodger, from the information I have, I know that many French speaking people are coming in Phuket for holidays, so I was wondering if venues had somehow specialized. Thus I don't consider my question as being stupid or naive. Also, you will be surprised, but I know Frenchies married to Thai women and living in France that speak Thai. Unfortunately for what I have in mind these women can speak also very good French.

Actually, I'm a writer and I'm looking for Thai bargirls/freelancers than can speak some French, broken French instead of fluent would be fine, as I want to study their phrasing. In France there is only few Thais and the Vietnamese or Laotians that came decades ago speak a to good French.
