Hi folks. I just got my account activated but I've been lurking on here for a week or two.
For some odd reason, I couldn't post after clicking on the activation link in the email that was sent to me until today. Perhaps it takes a while for the actual activation to "activate" my account.

Anyways, I'm really glad I found this forum as I was planning to visit Thailand for the 1st time this summer and wanted to get the insider's knowledge of the place before I go there.
It looks like most of the members here are friendly and helpful, so I hope to get to know some of you and get some good advice as well.

So I'm going to have a short layover in Bangkok (23hr) and was wondering what I should do within that short period of time. Any suggestions?

23 Hours (one night) in Bangkok...

There is so much to d9. Assuming you are looking for ladies you have 3 entertainment areas: Nana, Soi Cowboy and Patpong. You will find that most BM's favour one of the two first. A couple of threads have been started to compare the two. There are also a number of beer bars, however, you will find many of those in Phuket. Some soapies are better in Bangkok (IMO) than Phuket. There is also the "Love it or hate it" Eden Club, where it is a requirement to select 2 ladies.

Yes, I know its just a short day trip but its because of a layover while flying Thai Air to get to Manila.
I'll keep reading and if I have any more specific questions I'll ask them here.

I have a question that I couldn't really find by searching.

I'm a young dude (21 yr old), does this help or impede me in getting a better deal with the ladies? Such as price of ST/LT, price of drinks, ease of picking up girls, etc.

Also, I do realize that I will be going in the low season (mid May to be exact), and I was wondering just how many other tourists there'd be about BKK.
I hope prices are actually lower in the low season (as it is in the US) and that I can find girls much easier if there aren't as many other foreigners around.

I was sort of interested in going after non-working girls first, then if that doesn't work out, I'll just stick to BG's. I must say though, that I've never paid for sex, so I'm not sure what that'll do to my confidence or whatnot. Has this ever been a problem for any of you?

I mean, it is different from paying for her drinks and meals and movie ticket, etc, at least IMO.

Lastly, I was reading up on the Japanese girl tourists and was wondering if there'd be any in BKK in mid May.
In general, how responsive are farang women to other tourists?

Your age may or may not matter. Young and handsome have some benefits. On the other hand being older may paint the picture of having more money. All being said it is neither here nor there.

Hotels will definitely be cheaper, however, the P4P does not vary much.

It has been said the you do not pay for sex in Thailand, you pay them to leave. Either way you look at it this place is different. Do buy her a few drinks and maybe something to eat. One of the most "productive" evening I ever had was going to the hotel for 1 1/2 hour of fun, the taking the ladies for dinner, then back to the hotel. I owe IJ for that suggestion.

As for the Japaneese ... clueless.
