Greets from the Land of Sunshine(Florida)
Hello all,
Was fortunate enough to visit Patong back in March. Had quite a festive time, and plan on coming back to visit at least another two times this year. If things work out, it might be possible to move there, and commute to work in Alaska. (3 week on/3 week off schedule) Great stuff in the forums here, so much insight about the myriad of differences to be found in Thailand. Many newbie mistakes may actualy be avoided.
Posted twice before about dialing from overseas, and the help was greatly appreciated. So this is actually the third post, just finally got around to reading the must read for newbies sticky.
From Tampa Florida, so like Patong, we get the beautiful sunsets over the water. Currently working in the oilfields of northern Alaska. Still single and no kids.
Will not bother you all with another of the overly asked questions, but will ask this one. When will the cinema open up in Jungceylon? Not looking forward to the 15 km drive on a motorbike, with a passenger to the cinema on the outskirts of Phuket Town if it rains.
Cheers all, look forward to visiting the MT next time there and saying hi.
Will

Welcome to the board William.
Northern AK, would that be Prudhoe Bay. I have been to Alaska at least 10 time, but never north of Fairbanks.
About 10 years ago I had an invitation from ARCO to do a seminar in Prudhoe Bay in the moth of July. All set for the mid-night sun and the trip got canceled just days before.
Enough of that LOS is more exiting anyway. Glad you enjoy the board and maybe one of you many planned trips will yield a trip report.
