Smile hi from another farang!

hello to everybody on this great forum,
i`m reading here already some months but now i think it`s time to register & introduce myself

i`m 22 years and from Austria and this year in January i made my first trip to LOS (phuket-patong) for 5 weeks

like many people (i think almost everybody here) i also fell in love with this country!

had a very great time there and of course i met a wonderful girl...
it was a lot of fun with here, we experienced a lot of things (even an accident with her motorbike...)!
we are still in contact via mail or sms. really would like to meet her again when i`m coming back to patong maybe in December

2 months ago i decided to learn thai - in the meanwhile i can read a lot, but i don`t know many vocabels so it is a bit hard to understand the sentences *g*

so if you want to know something else, feel free to ask

greets

Welcome to the board nacha,

5 Weeks in Patong on your first trip ... must have been exiting.
Wish you good lock on your to-be-acquired language skills.
Even though a bit far out - wish you a good trip in December. Remember trip reports are always appreciated - even the belated ones.

Hi Nacha, welcome to the board. Seems you already had some good experiences in Patong and it would be nice to read about it here. So a belated TR would be appreciated by most of us.

currently i can`t read a book... well, i can read it, but i don`t understand the words (if i recognise where a word starts and ends *lol*)
i bought a (not really cheap) learning book with 10 audio cd`s, it is a very good help for me to learn the language.
of course the basic thing is to learn the alphabet if you want to read thai

if you want i can send you some links with "basic lessions"!

Hi Nacha, all the best with the lady and future holidays

What's the name of the book to learn thai? Having dvd"s and/or cd's along with a textbook seems a good way to learn that language i think.
Have seen or heard of any other courses like that?

Thanks,

Eddy
