New posts

I don't understand the "New Posts" link at the top of the page.

This should show me all the new posts the I have yet to read but seems to randomly change each time I click it?

i.e. I'll bet that after posting this thread if I click new posts my post will not show. Is it just new post for the topic you are in??

Am I missing something obvious??

Much better to click on "Quick Links" then "todays posts"
Much easier to find all new posts as they are posted

The ones highlighted are the unread ones by you alone

It shows the threads that includes post you have not read. When you open a thread all the posts displayed on that page or earlier posts are marked read, however, newer posts on other pages are still unread.

The thread you just created will not be new as you read (one would hope) you own post. When someone else post something in that thread or any other thread you have read, they become unread from the point forward of the most recent post you last displayed

Thanks. Too answer my own question I think it is because once you have view a new post it then disappears (which is a good thing) technology confusing me.
