Two hours from bangkok to pattaya.
Check availability for hotels on asiarooms.com
Grab a metered taxi to get there.

2 total journey time would that be taxi to airport, 2hours in airport, 2hours flight and taxi other end = approx 4.45 hours ????
sorry to be a pain

No flights from BKK to Pattaya.
Taxi takes around 1:45 from Suvarnabhumi, and cost should be around 1500thb.

Don't know in which order you want to do things. 6 days is not a lot of time so I would try do Pattaya first or last, not in the middle as you will be spending too much time on changing hotels. Which you do first doesn't really matter, however, if you arrive late evening/night, you might want to do Bangkok first. Obviously your departure time should help guide you in similar ways. Going between Bangkok and Pattaya can be done in taxi (negotiated or meter). You can also pre-arrange pickup with Mr Tooms taxi service. Email him at toom39 @ msn.com. Slightly more expensive, but very reliable. As far as I remember 1200 baht BKK to Patts and 1000 return.

The rate in Thailand is around 67 to 68 baht to the £
Change your money there, not in the UK, you will get less than 62 baht here.

welcome to the board mate!!
I usually get 1000 baht plus toll way which is roughly 100baht +/- and wasnt anyone or company in particular just a taxi bloke hanging around the airport, you might just have to bargain with him a bit.
as for hotel if you are not after anything too spectacular i stayed at the white inn 5 min walk from walking st. just your basic needs in a hotel inc air con and no joiner fee. 450 bht single and 600bht double.
good luck!!
