Wikipedia Hash_House_Harrierssaid this:
"The Hash House Harriers (abbreviated to HHH or H3) is an international group of drinking/running clubs. The template for a hash run is for one or more hashers to lay out a running trail, which may include false trails, short cuts and trail breaks. These features are designed to keep the pack together regardless of fitness levels or running speed. The 'hounds' follow the trail to a cache of beer. Hashing has frequently been described as 'a drinking club with a running problem'.
The organization of the Hash House Harriers is completely decentralized, with chapters (also commonly called kennels) having absolutely no formal regional or national offices or leadership structure. There are more than 1700 kennels with at least one Hash in virtually every major city in the world. Most hashes gather on a weekly or regularly scheduled basis.

Started by some Military "fools" from the British army who think running for no real cause, is a good idea.
Carried on around the world by ex-military fools, who think running about in a military fashion is still a good idea when a civie!
Can be spotted with 'tashes, bad t-shirts, sitting on ice or running in places that they really shouldn't at their age!

Anywhere at all! These Hashers are an abomination and we have taken up Hash Bashing on behalf of all the normal people out there.

Thanks for the explaination eur11, I never bothered to look it up. It sounds similar to what we did way back when I was in the scouts or similar. We called it a Chalk Chase.

was never bothered as well, until refoman spoke up . I thought all BMs know and I thought of 'picking' up thru' their posts, which didn't help much. Wikipedia was a great help, but shishow's hint was the gem.

Maybe they're both? "running club with a drinking problem", and a "drinking club with a running problem"

Try their website at Phuket Hash House Harriers - a drinking club with a running problem for more information.
(I'm sure I posted this before. If it was removed because I offended some forum rules can the Mods please let me know.)

Think it was just that it offended the general populace of the Forum.

Apparently Hashing is a healthy alternative to just sitting in a bar all day......as this photo suggests.

Easy there Mav. Most of the Phuket residents know and like these 2 guys. As you know, I'm always up for bashing the Hash but I have to draw the line at friends (no matter their perversions).
