Can't help you on package holidays but I believe it's a bit of a waste and takes away excitement.

What I would do if I were you:

- Check out ebookers.com or expedia.com for a list with best flights available from a large list of airlines.

- Check out the same pages for Hotels or just google them. It's not difficult to get a good overview and book online.

Otherwise, there are plenty of Hotel tips on this forum in the forum stickys.

Thailand in my opinion is not a place where you stuck for 2 weeks at the same hotel in a package. After the first couple of days you talk to people and listen to their recommendations, it's very easy and fun to travel to other destinations.

All can be organized very easily once in LOS.

Agree with whats posted here already. You will get a better deal by booking your own flights and hotel yourself IMO. Here are a few threads to give you some ideas of where to look

http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ac...-thailand.html

Hotels, have a look at the ones that interest you, check their website (Google it) then make a list and check back for further recommendations (Location, G/F pool etc)

http://www.phuket-info.com/forums/ac...esthouses.html

Finally, unless you are lucky, you will only be able to book a flight as far as Bangkok or Singapore from the UK. To get to Phuket from there, have a look at these airlines to check out those flights.

Any problems, just ask.

try Cheap flights & hotels | car hire | package holidays - TravelSupermarket UK & www.westeasttravel.co.uk are both good for flights .

You have more flexability if you book everything yourself and you can get the guess friendly places as well.

Usually I search both the hotels and airline websites. Most of the times I end up booking my tickets directly through the airline websites. That works fine with me.
With hotels it depends where I get the lowest price in combination with an easy bookings process.

Success.

I like expedia.co.uk for there prices. usually very reasonable. Search for hotels yourself in the accomodation thread. There are many opinions there. I have been to Thailand 4 times. The first 2 i booked through a travel agency, and the last 2 I did myself. The last 2 probably worked out cheaper in all honesty. A lot of what is advertised RE tours etc, are available at most hotels anyway, and probably work out cheaper to organise in Thailand. Also i find that it is restrictive booking any tours before I go. The reason being once you are there, your plans will probably change anyway.

Reading your posts , this will be your 3rd trip to Thailand (with the wife ...again ????) . What did you do for your past trips , flights / hotel separately or package ????

Also , what level of hotel/guest-house are you looking for , if you are not planning on taking any 'guests' back it could make a difference.

At this moment i'm trawling through the airlines for flights using the links given by the BMs plus some on google, but definately book a hotel separately as it gives greater flexibility to your holiday.

Damn every time I see this thread title in the list I keep skim-reading it as "best and cheeapest wh0re". Some wierd-ass yoda grammar used there you have.

As you might have guessed from the responses the cheapest is to source a variety of agents. If you're travelling as a couple package deals are actually looking pretty good now but again you have to shop around. I'd guess from your post you are looking for the easy route of one uber booking agent but the bottom line is there isn't one - if you want the best deal you have to do the leg-work.
