Welcome to the LOS
Hi Everybody,
Just got back from my 3rd short trip to LOS with my first only being in August this year so I still think of myself as a newbie as I learn a few lessons and have had a few great surprises each time. This trip started will me sitting next to a 34 year old guy going back to Phuket for the second time to meet up with the love of his life who he had met eight weeks earlier. All the warnings you hear on the forum that should being ringing alarm bells should have been going off in this guys head. Examples of what he shared with me were "She works in a Bar but she told me she nevers goes with customers." The first night we met (which was his first night in Patong and he was pissed) I knew she was the one and we spent my whole six days there together." He went back to Aus and resigned from his job sold everything and was now returning to met her at the airport for a week in Patong and then on to Bangkok for a week for a holiday she suggested. Now for the last 7 hrs of the flight he procedded to drink piss like there was no tomorrow spiling his beer over the seats ,himself and people around him. Everytime I pretended or tried to get some sleep he would poke me in the ribs and say GEE its a long trip what do you think! ( I thought he wasa real wanker ) Even so I tried to warn him of the pitfalls of falling in love so quickly with any girl especially a Thai lady and tried to point him towards the forum for some advice. To end it off as we approaching the airport he started to weep at the mere thought of meeting this love at the airport so for 20 min I had to put up with this as well as the stink of dry beer. I was thinking to my self this has got to be the worst plane flight ever and I was concentrating on hopefully better experiences to follow. I got through customs and found my "free taxi " provide by Gary from Lawan Residence ( a great place to stay in Patong ) and as we reached my taxi there she was the most beautiful Thai lady I have ever seen today standing next to it who had come along with the driver to talk english to me on my long ride into Patong. Discussions included the need for a full body massage on arrival at Lawan which let me say was wonderful. You Have got to LOve the LOS.

A few years ago I was on a flight to from Sydney to Malaysia when the piss head next to me vomited all over himself and then fell asleep. I had to put up with the stench for 6 hours as the flight was full and I couldn't move seats. It was horrible!

Hey ghlamb, nice report there ... man, that guy in the plane sure sounds like a real wanker - oh well, horses for causes. Yeah, Ive had the yobbo next to me on a long flight too! full of piss & valium, very messy & sloppy & no they wouldn't let me change seats, Malaysian Airlines.
Loved the part about the Thai lady accompanying you in the taxi ... what a great intro. Where & what's the Lawan residence like .... price, gf ?? Cheers

Thanks for your feedback guys,
The Lawan Residence is in a small road opposite the huge pink massage place Christens ( dont know if spelling is correct ). They have a very good website under their name so A google will find it. Garry the new owner is a very nice guy and his staff are wonderful. Good clean large size rooms 700baht. Nice restaurant and bar with free internet and no guest fees for onight stays. If you book for 4 nights you get picked up at the airport for free ! A short walk 2 min to bangla past lovely massage ladies 500baht for hour long oil massage in my room didnt meet one who would not HJ or boom boom for extra payment (no BF). Got to go to work but I will continue feedback and thoughts on my trip later including that wanker from the plane who spotted me a few days later and how he was going with his lady. GHLamb

With each trip to the to the LOS I find there are things I love about the place and things I dislike,
Firstly the things I love - 1) The Thai ladies of course who wouldnt enjoy even just looking at these beautiful women but when this is combined with their almost natural ability to make you feel comfortable,wanted and for even a short time the center of their personal universe it is truely wonderful to be there. 2) The vibe of Patong which has the abiltity to make you feel energized like a teenager to the point that sleep is just an interuption and really not needed at all. 3) The lack of competition and aggression amongst males that you would usually see on the streets of any town or city especially fueled by large amounts of booze.Perhaps the answer to world peace lies in the bars and hotels of Thailand. 4) Oil massages one of my personal favourites, such bliss even for one short hour in the hands of a talented and beautiful lady. The things I have come to dislike in the LOS are quite few with only one that stands out as very annoying for me as a newbie who likes to get to know people without taking advantage of them. That dislike comes last.
1) the humidity and heat took me by surprise on my first vist in August it was overwelming even though I came from Nth Aussie and this was the case in the two trips since. At least I gained an understanding of the meaning of low season in Patong which was made bearable by a product called Singa and a girl called Dal. 2) With my sudden change of sleeping paterns I dreamed of the long sleep in (which I never get a home) with the culmination of the 2-00pm breakfast and the reduced amount of hours till the night delights of Patong again work their magic. Alas the gigantic building boom that seems to take over Patong from early morning wanted me to share my hangovers with the world from an early hour.  Lastly 3) Being a newbie to Thailand and certainly the bar scene as a whole I walk into the bars with no expectations. Now I know a Lady will come up to me very quickly after my rear end hits a seat and no matter if they are my type or miles away from being my type I will always smile,be friendly and buy them a drink cause I thought to myself what a tough life if you happen to be an ugly BG in Patong plus remember what some women lack in youth and looks they tend to make up for in experience and enthusiasim. But suddenly it becomes by a drink for my friend, the mamasan, my friends friend, my thai boyfriend, the owner and anybody remotely connected to the DNA of lady sitting with me. I keep good humoured throughout but I tell you it gets up my nose that I might be on my first drink while I have somebody asking for a third. I find it hard to say no and be warned your nightly spend goes up quickly. There is no more expensive ST experience in Patong to be had then the " lets rip as my lady drinks of this poor corksucker as possiable"

I know what you mean about sleeping patterns changing. I believe the hotels that offer the free breakfast before 10-10:30am know that half the guests if not more will not be awake until after this time. I only know the morning in Patong as the time just before I go to bed for the night.
I know what you mean about the hounding for drinks etc. I was only by myself in Thailand(meaning not having a girl already and by my side) for a very short time and sometime it gets difficult to say "No" politely to many girls in a short period of time. I am a slut anyways so saying "no" is tough. Keep the reports coming!

Thanks for you positive feedback. Just to finish off on the wanker from the plane , I was in an art shop a few days later buying some paintings to take home when I heard a voice call out my name which is a bit of a surprise thousands of miles from home. I turned around and SHITE it was him and I spent the first 2mins telling him the reasons why I couldnt go for a drink with him that night. I changed the subject and asked if his lady was with him. Now I can tell you he looked a bit pastey and pale which I thought might be too much singa or boom boom. He then went on to explain she was at work the bar (she doesnt go with customers ) and he needed to escape for awhile. "She hasnt left me alone for 5 minutes since I met her at the airport, I cant go out by myself and I feel like I'm being imprisoned. Do you know if this is normal for Thai ladies."
Now I'm a newbie being asked about Thai ladies what a laugh but still this was the guy who made my flight hell so I decided to help. I told him " This was normal for all Thai ladies who were in love and it would last only 7 more days more and he sould embrace it especially on their holiday and smother as much as possiable and if he passed this test of love she would then give him freedom to enjoy his lifestyle of choice including affections of other ladies and treat him like a king from then on as well ." The color returned to his face and off he went to her bar Was I bit cruel ?
