A decent pool table.
Now I ain't no hustler nor do I do any major wagering of money, which bars are good for a decent game of pool with a proper table and cues in Patong?
Iv'e heard that some BG's in Pattaya play in the pool rooms with no knickers on OMG.

Are you asking about pool tables in Phuket (Patong) or Pattaya?
If its Patong, the tables in Living Room on Bangla aren't bad.

I found that the Aussie Bar on Bangla by far the best pool tables, upstairs seemed less busier. Winner stays on. Would be my choice for a serious game game as some Thai locals go in there too.
As Dawsey said the Living Room if you want a light hearted game with your girl.

Is it worth naming every establishment in Patong that has good pool tables? too many to name surely.
Perhaps the best bet is to tell the op that there are hundreds of good tables and places, you will definately find your own favourites within minutes of being here.

Personally i think the pool tables in Phuket are crap. I guess it depends on your expectations of quality. If you are happy playing on Sovereign or Everest tables, which the majority are, then i would say you just want a casual friendly game on a so-so table.
When people mention "good" pool tables the name that springs to mind is Brunswick, which to my knowledge are not apparent in Phuket. Metro bar and Ball in Hand are just 2 bars i go to in BKK when i want a "proper" game of pool.
If anyone knows of any Brunswick tables in Phuket do enlighten me...

Thanks for the responses, much appreciated.
^ and yeah thats what I meant by a proper pool table without knowing the individual names. No under/over-sized balls and pockets like buckets.

Dont the pubs who buy the pool tables have contracts to maintain them?
Like changing the cloth ?

If you can move to karon, there is a bar with a very nice pool table. Similar to the ones you can find in Europe at least. I dont remember the name but its in the center of karon

Pockets like buckets are all over patong, less of the tables with small pockets like the sort you get in most pubs in australia. To me the tables in patong are more like 9 ball tables although im no expert.
Big pockets = fast games = more money for the business.

OK - when we talk pool tables we need to understand that there are a) UK tables, b) american tables and c) Aussie tables.
The tables that are MOSTLY in HKT are a 7' "Valley" american table...same cut as the american 9 ball standard table, just a few foot smaller. All balls on these american tables are 2 1/4", meaning they are NOTHING like the vast majority of 6' tables that you find in UK pubs, which indeed are very different to the 7' tables that we have in Oz as well.
Problem with all of them, that i have found anyway, is that they are poorly maintained in most instances, and the humidity makes it mostly uncomfortable. Living Dolls is probably my favorite for a game though...albeit on american 7 footers.

Ball in Hand in BKK has great tables...too close together mind you, but good nonetheless. Havent heard of metro bar...will do some investigating i think. I used to love the Brunswick bar near nana....been "raped", in the pool sense, a few times in Bamboo bar too....all good fun in the end.
On 9 ball tables, perhaps i have been super mao, but i cant recall EVER seeing a 9 foot nine ball table in Patong - Olio, Brunswick or otherwise.....maybe i just dont get out enough 55555555
