IMO I think the locals in Bali are much friendlier than those of Phuket but being an Aussie and looking at it from a safety aspect i'd say you're much better off in Phuket...

welcome stone cold.
Meeting ladies should not be any problem to say the least.
You would not even need old spice...

Welcome to the board, Stonecold. You are about to have the time of your life. But be prepared for the LOS blues on your return.
All the best for your trip.

One thing you will notice about Phuket is that the shopkeepers don’t hassle you as much as they do in Bali, so that’s a plus.
I think the Hindu’s in Bali are ok, it's the Javanese that are the problem.

Mai Thai bar is easy to find just look for the bar with the disco lights or follow the green laserbeam

If you want to try the more relaxed bars first... try Night Station around the corner from Bangla Rd. Walk right down to the back of it... and then do a slow bar crawl out... it's got some real gems in there...

I have in my possesion an unopened, virgin 75ml bottle, of the fragrant babe magnet with the clipper on front. I have taken the decision to lend a helping hand to all the Aussie Bruce`s who, because of inherant hygiene problems out of their control are struggling to find female company.
The bottle is to be sold to the highest bidder. Bidding will begin at b5, and gents, please be aware there is a reserve price on said item. Postage will be an additional expense and may the best Bruce win!

Welcome to the board Stone Cold. Another perthie here (although a temp kalgoorlie resident now). I also stayed at the Patong beach hotel a couple of years back. As long as you booked a double room for yourself you should be fine bringing girls back no extra charge. But i would email the hotel and get a reply about this and take it with u if they give u any hassle. I got the impression from the hotel they permitted girls coming back but preferred not to have them coming back.
A daytime massage is a good way to kill a few hours. Soi Kepsab (across the main road from where you are staying) which was mentioned earlier has heaps of places. Oil massage is the way to go, very relaxing and chances of a happy ending being offered are high.
There are a number of good seafood restaurants down the end of a small soi (alley) right next to the tiger disco bar complex on bangla road.
Have a good trip.

I don't think Patong Beach hotel is gf. I think that they charge over 1000 baht as a joiner charge.
Better find another hotel
