First time to Phuket
Hi guys
i'm from Perth Western Australia and will be travelling for the first time to Phuket on the 1 december till the 10 December with a mate of mine. we are both in our early 30s... I have been reading some of the threads and they have been very usefull apart from the short hand that i'm still trying to figure out what some of it means. We are going to be staying hell cheapo at the patong beach lodge... i mean we only need the rooms to shower, sleep and whatever might come along our way... I have heard heaps about MTB and it seems that it must be the place to go as soon as we get there..... is there any other information that it is usefull for us... where to go and drink and meet girls... we want to try and mix it up with the local culture and people as much as possible because if we wanted to stick with the western culture or people we would go somewhere else or stay in Australia and not Thailand I was wondering if there is anyone that can give me any usefull it would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the board. I would probably not hit MTB until around 10-ish. I don't think it opens until 8 or 9 anyway.
I believe there is a sticky posted somewhere that has most of the abbreviations listed.

I am also arriving on the 1st December, probably we can meet up at MTB. I think the bar opens at about 830pm? Nicke comes about 930pm..

i read somewhere in one of the threads about a bell or something at MTB... what is that all about?

thanks guys..... any secrets/ways that i need to know about getting girls.... yesterday i read about a book that Nicke has for sale any way that i might be able to buy one before or is it better to wait till i get to Phuket...

There are some Thai phrases on the main page of this web site(before you enter the board). If you are staying in tourist areas you don't need to know Thai, but a few basic words is helpful. I am always trying to learn new Thai words(slow process lol) via audio cd's and books I have found at local book stores.

Oh, by the way, they are winding you up about old spice. The BG's love au natural, make sure you are very sweaty and smelly, the girls just LOVE a sweaty farang.
