Hi All, Newbie here!
Hi All,
Quick intro, I'm off for a first time trip to Bangkok in January. Have been reading the board with interest, booked hotel (Majestic Grand), so all set to go. Just need a bit of a heads up on best places for freelancers, and which are the best beer bars. And is anyone around for a beer Jan 9th - 14th? Cheers, NiTrO

hi nitro,
welcome to the board. my first trip to los was also bangkok. if it's freelancers you after try the beergardens...there are a few near nana plaza. always plenty of girls hanging round there ...early afternoon pretty good. you'll keep yourself well occupied in that town believe me!

Welcome, Nitro! Nice Avatar!
 In BKK, there is the Beergarden on Soi 7, Gulliver's Bar on Soi 5, Bamboo Bar on Soi 3, Q Bar on Soi 11, and Nana disco in the Nana Hotel across the street from Nana Entertainment Plaza. Plenty of others you will run into along the way, as well.

I like to start a trip in BKK with a beer and curry at Gullivers - its a top venue - give it a go sometime. FLs too!

Hi Nitro...I stayed Grand Majestic Oct good choice its nice for that bit of detachment the staff are faultless good facilities i could sing its praises all
day but thats not your question.I found the Biergarten good for drinking and no problems getting into conversastions, forgot there where girls there sometimes,Gulivers is good for food and is swamped with FLS aiming a little higher than the Biergarten girls.If you like the big girls go spend alittle time with the Arabs at the Grace Hotel Soi3.If your traveling alone you wont get down Soi4 to the junction they will find you ha propably already no your room number,have fun and be selective.

I have stayed at the MajGrand - it's a good choice. If you like a game of pool there are a couple of good pool bars within 2 minutes of your hotel. If you come out of your hotel, go straight ahead and go past the massage parlour (Annie's I think) towards Nana and turn right there is the Hilary 2 pool bar which is a real friendly bar with some reasonable tables and the girls take good care of you. There is also the Hilary 1 bar which is closer to Nana Plaza. Not necessarily the best place for finding freelancers but good bars with full size pool tables and cold beer. Recommended.
