Need a bit of help please guys..

myself and mates are bickering over which way is better to get to phuket..
We staying in langkawi,and want to move onto phuket on the 8th to meet some mates, dont care too much what time we leave in morning,but want to get to phuket asap on the same day..
..

so,fly or bus or how do we do it?
Dont mind how much it costs,aslong as it doesnt break the bank too much!!

if we ferry,then bus, where abouts do we need to go to/ do we need to prebook tickets etc? thanks heams
