Newbie here, heading to LOS in Jan for 3 weeks.
Hi all,
I've been looking on here for a while now as preparing for my first trip in Jan.
The plan so far:
3 nights in BKK - Majestic Grande
4 nights in Phuket (want to do kayaking trip and Kho Phi Phi)
3 nights in Samui
After that I'll see how I feel and either head up to Pattaya or stay on down south until returning home.
Couple of questions - If I want to go to Pattaya will I find it wasy to get a room in 3star accom? (I'd be there mid Jan.)

In reply to the removed question, yes they are illegal to bring into Thailand, and could cause you a problem at customs. Don't bother is my advise.

Welcome to the board.
Mid Jan is still peak season, however, you should be able find some accommodation. My biggest concern would be wondering around with luggage and looking for a place.
If it was me I would try to book as soon as you know the actual dates that you want to go.

Sounds like a plan!! You should be able to get accomodations in Pattaya without a problem, but it is best to book a few days in advance on the internet, so the limo driver knows where to take you. The first day in Patttaya could be pretty confusing otherwise. On this page, you will see the "Hotel Guide" as on the right side. Just click on Pattaya hotels to book a room.
BTW, Welcome to the Board, fizzer!!

Thanks for the replies guys. Great boards btw.
I wanted to use this trip to sample a few areas, hence the moving around.
But I would like to stay put for the last week somewhere. I reckon I'm gonna feel like: 'wow BKK is good, oh gotta move, wow Phuket is great, oh gotta move, etc, etc.' But at least I've got a last 10 days or so to play with at the end.
Although if I really liked Phuket I could always not bother with Samui. I'm only paying for 3, very cheap, nights up front. It's just that it sounded like such a nice island and I like a holiday with variety.
