Newbie on his way to LOS

First of all I would like to say Good evening to my fellow members here at the forums!

I've been to Thailand once and it was 2 weeks in Bangkok, it was in AUG I think. Anyway I decided to go there again, this time by my self but not in Bangkok I was thinking either Pattaya or Phuket.

So far from what I read in the forums, Phuket should have better beaches, more hotels and restaurants than Pattaya. But Pattaya is a better place if you want to party all through?

Im only going to stay 1 week in LOS, then 2 weeks more next year hopefully. Im thinking about going there late DEC, so I can celebrate New years eve there.

For 1 week just partying and enjoying the new years eve, should I then go for Pattaya? Thanks a bunch!

Welcome to the board...As far as a choice between Phuket and Pattaya, it depends on what your looking for in a vacation. If your only interested in the nightlife then you might find Pattaya more your taste. However, if your looking for a combination of nightlife and a beach resort type of vacation then Phuket should be considered. Read the forum boards, as you will find all the information you will need to decide.

Welcome to the forum TestDK.

You are leaving it very late to get both a hotel and more importantly , a flight to Thailand over the Xmas and New Year period. Have you checked the availability of flights from Denmark?

To answer your question, you can party hard at either Phuket or Pattaya at Xmas, though I would guess Pattaya is more full on.. Its up 2 you where you go.

Before you make any decisions, first see if there is a flight or hotel, because its the busiest time of the year and people have booked this period months ago.

Ah I see.

No im just lookin for partying. Next year I hopefully go to Phuket with some friends to enjoy LOS fully.

Well I guess im going to Pattayya then, currently im in the middleeast or vacation, I must see if I can find a flight from here to LOS.

Any recommendations on a hotel In Pattayya so I can check it right away? Just looking for a BG friendly place, with pool. Planning on staying in a 2 person bedroom so I don't have to pay extra fee when I bring along a girl

Try Emirates from Dubai, or Etihad from Abu Dhabi for your best bet to get to BKK ( assuming you are in the UAE)

For hotels have a look here

Areca Lodge comes well recommended, also there are plenty of threads in the Pattaya section to give you some ideas of G/F hotels with a pool

Edit This is the link for Areca Lodge. Areca Lodge - Pattaya hotels Thailand

Velkommen.

I would start now working on hotels rooms; whether you pick Pattaya or Phuket. The most recommended hotels are likely to be booked.

In Pattaya, Areca is one of them, but worth a try. Another that of recent has come highly recommended is Pattaya Bay Resort (new). You may also want to try Secrets Hotel. Once I stayed at Mercure in Pattaya. Nice hotel but a bit inconvenient to get to. From Second Road they run a hotel-tuk-tuk shuttle and have a small indoor waiting area there. I have a feeling that hotel does not fill up as fast and you can make reservations and cancel later if one of your more preferred choices come available.
