well i will be making my first trip there sometime early next year, i was planning on going sooner but things did not work out. i will be flying from afghanistan and will only have a few things while i m there, i am assuming i can arrive with a few pairs of shorts and some jeans. i will be meeting a few friends from back home. but i do have a few questions, this is meant to be one of those trips of a lifetime, i am sure i will be back again, but the first i wanna go all out (not raising the prices of anything by any means of course) but i will obviously be a little stressed out from work. i will prob have about 10 days there, i would like to travel to pi-pi (sp?) but what else should i plan for? we are all late 20's and will obviously be looking for the fun nights out, but how much should i bring so that i will never even think about how much i spend? i was thinking about 200 a day for everything or shouldi bring more? also how is the sping over there? crowded? thanks for any info. also should i look into going to bangkok or phuket?

200 $ a day ? Thats about 6000 baht...

Does that include Hotel/Accommodation?

If not you will have a very good time with that kind of money (If you can bring more then by all means bring more, you will have an even better time

).

You will be arriving in high season, more crowds and more expensive, but still a lot cheaper than Europe or the USA, I don't know about Afghanistan prices....

How much you drink(if you drink) is also a factor. Drinks can add up over the course of a day.

As stated the more money the more fun you will have..like most places.

I think if you want to get all that dirty water off your chest, have a few drinks and consort with some lbfms then $300 per day would leave you some change. $200 might be justa little bit short.

The difference between $200 and $300 per day is huge. I spend on average near 10,000 baht per day and spend money mostly as I feel like it. I only drink moderately (3-4 beers on some days and up to 10 on others), so alcohol is not a significant expense.

Wow we have some big spenders here. Personally I average about 4000B to 4500B a day without hotel costs and have a good time. With the current exchange rates you will have about 6700B a day. Unless you go nuts ringing bells you will be fine.

I think without hotel i've never spent more than 3000 baths a day. Maybe we can add 1000baths the next morning for the girl, but I mean what you want to bring is enough. As one guy said it depends on how much you drink. I only drink at night but i do drink quite a lot and the money i spend is enough. Of course if you want to drink during the day, go to expensive restaurants, bring more money!!

6k a day is very good. I could not manage on 3k. About 5 for me, sometimes more sometimes less. Recently girl I was with dumped 3k in a bar in under 1 hour. Told her to pull her f@ckin head in.

What do you guys drink to spend that much money? I mean I only drink beer and its cheap. Maybe a whiskey or vodka is much more expensive, i dont know.

It's not what one drinks specifically, more so the amount of people to share the fun. Who likes to drink alone?

thats true!! I was just with one friend in LOS thats why i didnt spend that much. But yes, the night i met other people i spent much more than usually. I didnt think about it thats true!!!

appriciate all the info, as for me and my friends, we will be drinking a fair ammount, but not too much, but of course i wanna ring the bell a few times. so i am thinking of going about 3 bills a day, that should be good. again thanks.
