Passport question
Hi everyone, been enjoying the forum for a while,it helped me out on my first holiday back in June so I became a member in December.I'm returning in February but noticed that my passport expires in June 08.Does anyone think this will be a problem? I could only find one thread asking about how long your passport needs to be valid back in 04 but no real answer.Anyone ever have a similar situation?

At least 6 months after your intended time of entry, like most countries. The airline could in theory stop you from boarding in the first place.
That said I went all over the world before I realised that I never signed my passport, including America a couple of months after 9/11.
So better get a new one!

Most countries want you to have a least 6 months of validity on your passport before they will issue a visa.Hope this helped.

I did avisa run with only 4 months left on my passport and they still gave me a 90 day stamp, but reckon I wouldn't want to risk it, so yep get yourself a new passport.

I agree with posts above, airlines & some countries can stop u from flying & entering if u have less than 6 months left on yr passport, i would not take the risk - i'd get a new one ,it doesn't take long to get a new one here in aust.
cheers Gary

They can also insist on you having at least one completely blank page for the visa stamp.

I did get through with 4 months left
In October I did get through with just 4 months left on my passport and no one said a word about it. I do not recommend it if you can at all get it renewed but it is possible. I didn't notice that mine expired soon until about a month before I left and it was taking months to get renewals at the time, so I said I'll try and all went ok. I applied for a renewal as soon as I got back and low and behold I got it within 10 days without asking for expedited service.

Just as a matter of interest as I am about to renew my passport, what are the Aussie Gov' charging for a renewal?
My last renewal 10yrs ago was £30, now its £70 and I have to do 4 x passports for the whole family

It was $200 aussie,10 years ago itwas about $110.thats for a standard 32 page passport. A 64 page book was $300. About 10 days to turn up or you can pay extra to get it quicker

A little dearer in Oz then. That is about £90 in UK, which is what we pay for a 32 page quick delivery. The 48 page book is around £85
