Stayed in the same Hotel my first ever trip, its walkable distance into Karon, there is a route out the back and along the beach. Its about a 200 bht tuk truk ride into Patong. Really nice hotel, rooms are all small bungalows, very discreet and the opne we stayed in wasn't overlooked by anyone, and very near the lower pool. However they do offer a golf buggy lift to and from your room because of the hillside its built on, we thought we'd keep fit by climbing the 300 plus steps up to the breakfast room, did that once!!
Sightseeing options, visit one of the tour stalls in Patong and collect as many brochures as you can, compare them price wise with what the hotel can offer and go from there, all tours will pick you up from your hotel etc. Will not advise on which to do, as do not know what you like, same as which bars are best, its such an individual choice, call into Mai Tai Bar of course and meet up with your fellow board members, probably the best source of information can be gleaned from us once you are there and can expand on the things you like etc.

When I was there they were not guest friendly, in other words charged a guest fee. Saying that it is very easy to enter the hotel from the beach side, fairly undetected so not sure if they uphold that now. There again i was with my girlfriend so didn't really test the system. Also they had mercedes taxis at the entrance of the hotel, do not book them unless you are feeling flush or want a little treat, because if you stand outside the hotel there is a taxi next door, or you can flag down a tuk tuk as it passes.

You don't have to go all the way to Patong to get some action. There is Karon center. You might have to shop around for girls willing to do Bi.

You may need to seek the right TGs out a bit more, but I have seen couples openly do it... even in places such as Dragon. Just be up front in your discussion and you wont have a problem. Enjoy you trip.

Welcome to the board. Spent a lot of time in Karon/Kata my last trip..(sort of growing on me) There is a decent amount of nightlife there and much more relaxed then Bangla. Believe you will not have problem hooking up. Spent many an evening at Kata Gardens dancing and for late night fun found this great bar in Karon (Roberts Pub) that has a fantastic live band. Tuk Tuk are 300B each way to Patong these days and after 3am the extortion price of 400B is demanded (at least from Karon to Patong)….Have a great trip.
