Hello All

Hello all and thanks for allowing me to join this recently discovered gem. I'm a 32 year-old divorced male from the great ol US of A. I've started a career working overseas and just found out that I love Thailand. So far in the last two years I've been to Pattaya 5 times and the Philippines once. But come March 13 I'll be setting my eyes on Phuket and Ko Samui for 21 beer and alcohol infested days. I work hard therefor I believe should be able to play hard. I have my fair share of stories and so far I can relate to most of what I've read here. I have fallen for the........ dead cow, sick cow, sick mother, sick father, sick sister, sick brother, sick mother again,(this one seems to be the favorite) sisters tuition, her tuition, brothers tuition hell even friends tuition, broke icebox, broke scooter, broke ac, broke computer, broke cellphone, broke tv(seems like electronics suck huh)"someone steal my _____ "you can fill in the blank, "only working bar 1 month," "up to you," "can you send me" 30k baht, 50k baht, 90k baht,(I think 90k is the most I have given in one lump sum) and so on and so on........ I, like many other people here do not go to Thailand with the intentions of marrying, falling in love with, taking home or even feeling sorry for any of the BG's I so happen to meet but it happens... it happens to the best of us. Well thanks once again and if any one has the time, some suggestions of what really sets your vacation off great would be nice. As of now I booked 7 days at BYD Lofts in Phuket and plan to be in Ko Samui on the 21st of April for the FMP. I would like to get some Ideas on nice places to stay in Ko Samui.

-Thomas

Welcome to the board Thomas.

Spent a few weeks based in Chaweng on Samui last year, you'll not be disappointed. Places to stay...depends on your budget really, theres a wide choice from simple guesthouses to five star beach resorts. Try Koh Samui Hotels: Ko Samui Hotel Guide and Travel Information.

Thanks all for the warm welcomes. One question though, how many of ya actually live in LOS? And for the ones who do (dumb question I know) is it all you anticipated it to be? I have thought about it for some time now and I've kinda come up with some pros and cons. Can some of you be so kindly as to share yours? Oh and St_George thanks for the link I still haven't decided but you have given me at least a starting point.
