Taxi prices to beaches

I am comming back for my second trip staying again at the Summer Breeze.

Last time I went to several beaches during always using one of those little taxis (?) where u sit in the back. I always got a price for them to take me and pick me up at a certain time.

I paid from 400 bath to Kata to (as far as I remember ) 700 to Nai Harn for the round trip.

Did I overpay or is that the price level?

Thanks Curly

If these are return prices then you did well! Personally I have a bike for my entire stay as I like the independance of going when and where I like. Last trip I rented a car for several days which allowed me even greater flexibility when traveling around with a companion. Plus later at night I was able to venture out to far off lands that I would never do on a bike.

Thanks guys,

I have thought about renting a bike/car. But since I dont really have the need to go anywhere but the beach I figure why bother with insurance, parking and navigating on my own.

Tao, the receptionist in the summer breeze can arrange a car for you. Her husband, Mr Thorn, has a nice a/c car and is very reliable and friendly. I used him last August to get to Kata, I think it was 400 or 600 baht for round trip, can't remember. Also great for airport transfers.
