A short hello from me.
Just moved to Phuket from Udonthani (its in the name LOL)
We have a very active forum up there (udonmap.com) and after 3 years there I now have to find my way in Phuket.
Tons of questions about where to get this or that in Phuket, but it can wait
I hope this forum is as much fun as the Udon one was

I have also been on udonmap, was up there a couple of times with my ex, stayed in the Irish Clock, it was just a bit too boring for me.

I didn't exactly choose, it was kinda chosen for me (slave to the office)
I have ended up in Cherntalay (Thalang) and you are absolutely right - it makes a big difference to the kind of lifestyle.

I spent almost a year in Pattaya after Udon - before making it down here and to have to 'survive' in sleepy Cherntalay is a bit of a shock. Even Udon was 10 times more active than around here.

I have managed to find Chang Pub in Kamala and tried one or two of the other bars there but apart from that - it means venturing over the hill into Patong - which isn't that much of a problem - except having to drive back without going over the edge of the mountain.

I hope I can begin to find my way around and hope that this forum will be of help.
My first visit to Phuket (Patong) was in 1984 and things have changed a little since then. Its a whole different game being on holiday and living here full time (especially having to work also).
