phuket december

this has prob been asked a lot of times but me and three mates are going to thailand on the 1st of december and we dont want to book hotels as we always like to check them out when in a country, plus we like to move about, we r there for three weeks and we would like to know the chances of finding a guest friendly hotel in phuket in dec, when looking online they all seem to be booked or a rip off price, i realise you can barter to get a better deal but we are concerned about availability, hope you guys in the know can help!!!

Not easy to find any hotel around that time of year, if you wait until then and do manage to get one it will not be close to the action, i have done it before and ended up with a bad room miles from anywhere.

where have you been looking at staying?? and what prices are being asked??

I made the mistake of not booking in patts for new year just past, had to change hotels 3 times in 6 days i think it was, not good when check out is at 12 and you dont normally get up till 2/3, and in the end the only one i could find, after lots of looking around and walking into places, was one at about 4.5K a night.

good luck with your search

Not sure if you have seen this thread, but lots of opinions on a lot of different hotels, have a read through, i think there are so many good places that i dont have any particular favourite.

I think in all my trips to Phuket i would have to say that my stay in Patong Villa was the best, but that was due to the people staying there at the time, also having a swimming pool about 5 steps from the front door was excellent.

Not sure why i am writing about patong villa as i believe it not to be guest friendly anymore, but i just like writing sometimes.
