Kata Beach

Hi folks!

I am going to Phuket next week but I haven't decided where to stay yet. I know the Patong beach is the main area for nightlife, which i dont want to miss. But on the other site I would like to stay in a more quiet environment. I just have seen pix and the Kata beach area looks quiet nice to me. If i drink in the evening in patong how much do I have to spend for taxi or tuktuk to come back to Kata?
Can you recommend any Hotels, bungalows at Kata beach about 800Thb? Clean, guestfriendly, tv aircon,fridge.

I'm off to kata in 6 weeks and have been searching for info so possibly can help.

From my searches I would try the lastminute hotel site for arrivals in next 2 weeks that can be accessed via the phuket gazette site
think its called latestays.com

guest friendly etc......unsure as this is my first visit


cost of taxi to and from patong is quite expensive so if your into the patong scene maybe look for hotel in patong or karon which is closer

the taxi is as expensive as getting a cheap second room in patong for a stop over
