Phuket Thailand: Side trip to the Philippines ?

I'm looking at doing a side trip to the Philippines while i'm in Thailand this August for one week & check out Angels City, from the photo's that i have seen & story told it seems to be a wild place with nude bar's everywhere. I have been on angeles2 forums looking at all there posts, they have heaps of nude photo's of the bar girls there & i'm looking at these women & thinking that thay are not as HOT as Thai women, the best photo's the guys post on there are Thai bar girls. Has anyone been there is it worth spending one week there. It not costing me anything to fly to and from there coz in in ChrisFlyers club, so should i take the chance on this. Thanks

I would say do it.. I get a lot of good reports from PI..

Girls easier to talk to (perfect english).. Big tits.. Cheaper.. Area a bit rougher and more Pattaya like.. Worth a week..

Do yourself a favour and go. Although I havnt been to AC for a while, went several times years ago, it is great fun. Totally different scene then what you'll find here.

Thanks very much for the information on this, but now i don't know if i want to go to the Philippines now. I think i would rather surport the bars in phuket. I think i just love the life style in Phuket, it's so laided back from other places i have been to & that what i want in a holiday.

you can take a taxi up to there, take a bus from the Swagman Hotel, or fly up to Clark Air Base from Manila.

Orchid Inn is probably the best hotel near the "fun zone" and you will need reservations. No Deluxe resorts up there but better accomodations are being built. Most are pretty reasonably priced. Holiday Inn is the nicest resort but much more expensive, not really guest friendly, and have to take jeepney or trike to "fun zone".

Good site with pictures and current info. there is also a site for Angeles City, just do a search. Along with info on most single male tourist info sites.

PI girls are fun and usually speak pretty good english. They are a little fuller figured than Thai girls but you can find some stunners. Manila is the best place for relly pretty PI girls but you pay a premium, just like Bangkok go go girls. Angles City girls are less expensive than Thai girls as LT is $20 US including barfine.

Nothing much to do other than nightlife in AC but it is fulltime. Starts earlier than most go go in Thailand and goes all day almost.

Have fun. Just another choice on the menu.

BTW if you book through Tiger Airways you can get a flight connection direct to Clarke Airforce Base which saves a long combi ride

Hi TC,

I was there last year and I plan on going back this year some time, probably November.
I can not tell you much about Manilla I stayed at a place not to far from the centre of the city. I can dig up the hotel (guest friendly) name if you wish just ask, it was just around the corner from Swaggy. I was totally unimpressed with Swaggy, it is old run down and expensive compared to what I found just around the corner.
Just down the road from the hotel, a few minutes walk was a pub called LA Café and it was wall to wall FL, very nice FL, and they also had a live band which I found to be bloody good.
If I have any of the names wrong the regulars will correct me I hope, most of this is from memory and it was just over 12 months ago when I was there.

AC, I do not remember seeing any nude dancing when I was there, but that is not to say that there wasn’t any. 1 week would be a bit long for me, not a lot to do in the day, but each to his own. For accommodation there I can recommend the following place, guest friendly and staff are very friendly and it is about maybe 2 minutes walk from the Fields Avenue, which is where all the bars are. It is the next street across from the infamous blow row, enough said.
LT was 1000 Pesos about $25 AUD and you are not expected to pay the BG in the morning other than a tip but, up to you.

I agree with LivinLOS, worth a look see definitely. The girls speak English pretty well but they also talk about us in their own tongue, If you have a mate there and you can speak a bit of Thai to each other it stops them using their own lingo real quick! It did for us anyway.

I also went to Subic Bay and did not like it much at all. Did not feel that friendly to me.
I enjoyed AC though. You can get San Miguel’s for about $1 to $2 AUD. Food is bland not like Thai though.
Give it a try??

Just back from AC ....

Central Park (Steveski has given the contact details) has the most friendly staff and a great place to stay if you can get a room. Even now its 'low' season the hotels are pretty packed. If you can get a room there would recommend the New Amsterdam Hotel - right in the heart of the 'action' and the best resurant in AC (for both value and quality).

Still nitelife .... barfines 1200 Peso (840 Bhat) gone up a bit from 1k - inflation and weak peso - but this is for all nite and if you barfine in afternoon - thats a hell of a lot of ****ing!! Still a tip is usual. Smaller outfits towards Clark have 1k Peso barfines still and if your early can find some very high quality hotties. And if your an insomniac or your girl lets you down Doll House is open 24/7 !!!

Totally different 'feel' to Phuket and absolutely nothing to do except drink (lots) and **** (lots) .... worth a side trip but much longer than a week and the liver and **** has probably taken enough abuse.

PS: North Luzon highway from Manila to AC is completed and takes about 90 mins now- taxi pickup from hotel will be 2100/2400 peso. Manila sucks and unless your asian not really worth the effort.
