tickets has been booked for LOS in December.

Just wanted to give an update and had some questions. I purchased my tickets, because a lot of you on the board were telling me to purchase it now before I regret it later down the line. The dates are as follows December 17th to January 8th. I think I am in the HIGH season of LOS. So this leads me to ask, how HIGH is high? I mean will the prices be DOUBLED? I am used to traveling in July and August. This will be my first trip in December season. So should I just suck it up and get ready to pay the PRICES? I mean, regardless of other destinations for vacation spots, this is pretty much low-cost no?

The prices will not deter me from having a great time with my girlfriend. We will be venturing a lot of different lands which I Have not gone to in the past. But definitely we stop in Phuket for a good 4 to 5 days. I am wondering if I should take my girlfriend to Pattaya as well. But I guess that will be on a whim if I decide to travel there. What do you fellas think? Any advice is good advice, thanks!!!

The prices are higher on hotel rooms and BGs. But since you are taking your GF, you won't have to worry about the BG prices! Hotel rates are still not so bad, even in high season, but higher than low season. If you don't want to pay more than you did for low season, then just settle for more modest accomodations! But the prices for a lot of things, like drinks, meals, tours, and taxis, I think would be generally pretty much the same. And even in high season, LOS is still pretty cheap compared to Western countries.

If it were me, I wouldn't ake my GF to Pattaya. Not unless she has a thing for BGs!! Some other good places to go besides Phuket are Bangkok(obviously), Chiang Mai, Koh Samui, Ko Phangnan, and Hua Hin. Phi Phi is also a big tourist destination, but since it got wrecked in the tsunami, I don't know what it will be like this year.

Any suggestions for good hotels on Koh Samui? I have not been there so I do not know what are the surroundings and happening spots. Same goes for Phi Phi and Koh Phangan?
