Golf & Accomodation

Guys,

I've got a small touring party(6-8 guys) looking to come to Phuket late Nov/early Dec for primarily a golf tour at Blue Canyon.

I understand the course is quite a way from the "action" could anyone suggest a location/accomodation mid-way between Blue Canyon and Patong, cost is not too much of an issue, but reasonably guest friendly would be ideal for those who wish to partake, although not a priority.

We'd probably hire a driver and a van, is this easy to do?, and is the guy flexible time wise?, ie. will he sit at Patong waiting to deliver drunks home at 2 or 3 in the morning. I presume cash is the great persuader.....

Get your hotel closer to Patong as you will spend more time there. Patong - Blue Canyon is 40 minutes by car. Easy to hire taxi's ore even mini bus. Watch out that you have firm bookings for the BC, especially the Canyon Course. Also, there is a BMW-international tournement on BC in November (don't know exact date), so they will probably be closed 3-4 days.

Hey Alain.....always thought your Forum name was associated with you being a Captain of a ship, but with all your knowledge on Phuket golf.....we might have to vote you MTB Golf Club Captain as well

Seams to have wery mutch info about all courses on Phuket !!!

Any one have any contact details of a van driver?, or some info on where to look. I'd like to get it organised before we get there.

If you have a party of 6-8 maybe you can ask the golfclub to pick you up and bring you back. They all have minivans. It can be more expensive than a local van from a travel agency.
Also some companies have golfpackages, transport and greenfees included.
