Average cost per day in Phuket?

G'day guys, newbie on the forums. Me and a mate are going to Phuket in November, just wondering what the average cost of living/expenses/BG's for one day. basically the whole lot. We want to have a blast, I budgeted 3000 ($100AUD) Baht a day, we already have breakfast at the hotel.

And where are the stunners at?

Edited Post, I meant 3000 Baht per day, thanks for the reply Coolhand.

1000 baht per day will pay for the girl, but not the bf, drinks, food etc.

I would go for 7k per day.

Where are the stunners? All over the place. I like to think the girls in soi eric are better looking but not all of the are 10's.

Everyones definition of "stunner" is very different, you'll need to look around yourself and find them. It wont take long.

4k is enough

That adds up to 4100 , and most people spend more than 100 Baht on food. Also possible Tuk Tuk/Motor bike and a few other odds and ends, total would end up about 6k - 7k. Always budget higher than expected , that way you can probably have a couple of "really good" nights at the end of your holiday.

P.S jack , you are asking about 2 BGs at a time , so that would double your costs.

I HAVE ALL MY hotels, internal flights, payed for and i will have my g/f with me who will have had her wedge (55555) after that i am looking at 4,000 bhat a day for food and drinks in patong and pattaya and less in samui , but i will have a reseve fund for unexpected (55555) outings to club nevada and classroom and soi yodasak in pattaya. At the end of the day you spend according to your means i will have different spending power to some other guy who maybe works in the city of london financilal institutions, and also i am going to Hamburg in January and philipines in May so i will have to be just a little careful with my spending ( i expect a reply from alf on that statement).

I had a lot of fun for 4000-5000 a day in Patong. Thats the average, some days more - some days less. I have also noticed that i spend more money in the beginning of my holiday than in the end for some reason...

Everyones' budget will be different depending on circumstances...like if you're single or travelling with a partner/family...and also on what your interests are

For anyone travelling single, this will give you an idea of DAILY expenses based on a fairly typical DAY for me...but bear in mind I live here 6 months of the year so don't have to do "everything" in a short space of time.

Room...........400

I rent an apartment up on the hillside for 12000 a month...can get cheaper but I like comforts, quiet and a nice view and pool :-)

Motorbike+Gas.....140

3500 a month and costs 120 baht per tank of gas

If I go to the beach:-
Beach sunbed.....50
Drinks+fruit at the beach.....100
Beach restaurant...Beef in Oyster sauce with Steam Rice :-)...80

Oil massage in Patong....350 + 50baht tip....400 ... have one almost everyday...been known to have two! (+300 if I decide to have a nice oily "happy ending")

Internet.........40 I'm usually on for an hour or so per day

Restocking fridge with drinks/yoghurts.....50

Evening food....200+ includes usually visiting a noodle soup cart at 3 in the morning!

5 games Pool.....100 ... though I go to Soi Moodie sometimes where it's free

Nighttime drinks.....1500+ Can vary tremendously depending if I drink local brews (trouble is I like Jack Daniels too much) and how many lady drinks I buy.

Lady...........1200 Bar fine and gift for lady if I want some "no strings company"!

Total daily expenses.....4260+ baht

Cost

I think it all depends on your self,
and what you like to do in the day / night
if your a easy touch like me and go in a bar in the afternoon and end up buying 3 or 4 girls drinks until
say 7 or 8 o'clock your bar bill will be about 3000 thb could be more like 4k
then you go get something to eat 500thb use the internet .hire a moped 300thb maybe get a taxi back to the nightlife
go bar drink until 2 that's about 2000 then you take a BG back 250 to 500 bar fine plus her 1000 to 2000

so I would allow myself 10 k to be safe

Jeeeesuuuuuuuuuus!

Hi There

I have been to Thailand on some 7 occasions now. (4 to Patong).

I budget only 4500BHT per day. I stay in a comfortable Hotel, with A/C, Cable TV, Balcony, and usually breakfast thrown-in each day.

I have never paid more than 800BHT per night for this accomodataion in Patong.

I will not, EVER, pay more than 800 BHT per night for a lady (plus 200BHT Bar Fine) = 1000 BHT

That totals 1800 BHT so far.

I purchase copious bottles of Vodka in the local Superette and store in the Fridge in my room (about 1100 BHT each) Probably equates to about 1/2 Bottle per day = 550 Baht per day).

So far the total is 2350 BHT per day.

From this point, I would probably spend around 1500 BHT per day on alcohol in various Bars (usually MTB).

This now totals = 3850BHT

And finally, bearing in mind that I have had a free Breakfast, I would probably only spent another 500 BHT per day on additional food.

Beach Lounger Hire, etc . . . Mayby 150BHT

(+ 150 BHT for Newspapers' etc).

TOTAL = 4500BHT

I seem to have an enjoyable time, but mayby I am missing out on something?????

PS: . . . I have never been known to 'Ring The Bell'

Cheers

YOU SPEND 4,500 BAHT A DAY PLUS COST OF YOUR AIRFARE AND YOU STATE YOU WOULDN'T PAY A LADY MORE THAN 800 BT. A NIGHT.
UP TO YOU, BUT I THINK YOU HAVE YOUR PRIORITIES A BIT CONFUSED.
SURELY AN EXTRA 200 A NIGHT ISN'T GOING TO BREAK YOU, BUT CAN MEAN AN AWFUL LOT TO A STRUGGLING BG.

According to my records during my 7-day phuket leg of the August tour I hit the ATMs four times at 10,000THB each. Plus what I had in my pocket when I arrived it comes out to about 7000THB per day.

FWIW.

Hi there Alibaba

I hope I have'nt come across as 'Mr scrooge', but really, you must be aware that many of the more desirable BG's, have one, or even more poor Saps from numerous countries sending them monthly 'contributions'.

Many of these girls are fairly well-off by Thai standards. I have been with many of them when their cell-phones have rung and been told 'do not speak'!, whilst they have made hollow conversation with some poor c**t struck guy, usually from some European country. After the usual 'I miss you lots' . . . crap, they manage to always add 'when you send money'.

One such BG was using money sent to her, for payments on a new motorbike, when the intention was to relieve the necessity to go with men for money.

I'm sorry if I sound rather harsh, but the reality is, (in many cases, not all) that these girls have quite a reasonable income (by Thai standards).

Cheers

Hi Paul

I don't see any allowance here for razor blades

Perhaps you bring a good supply from NZ?

Razor Blades

Hi there Dawsey

I trust youself and family are well.

Actually, yes, I do bring a copious supply of disposable razors with me from NZ.

I have found it a lot more satisfactory to use them once, and consign them to the Bin. This came about from an instance several years ago when one lady insisted in a D.I.Y. job.

She went into the Hotel bathroom and emerged about 20 minutes later with my personal hand razor in her hand. Needless to say, my brand-new rather fancy hand-razor, was also consigned to the Bin.

Bah . . . Humbug !!!

Cheers

Hiya PDM3.
I know what your saying. I reckon everybody who has spent time with these ladies has listened to their phone conversations with their "no. 1 b/friend"??
and even been told by some girls about the falangs who are sending money etc. but there are lots of them who are struggling, especially during the low season and even more so if their not that pretty.
I still reckon that a minimum of 1000 baht is not too much to expect to pay.
Believe me, I don't throw my money about needlessly as I visit about 4 times a year and have to be a little careful. Even so, I wouldn't dream of giving less than the minimum 1000. In fact if I thought a girl was having a hard time of it I would give her more.
Call me an old softy if you like but I do tend to feel sorry for some of these girls.

Fair points alibaba, but at the end of the day its a negotiation, and the only fair price is what you are comfortable to pay and the girl is comfortable to accept. If it weren`t for people like pdm3 negotiating for 1000baht, then soon 2000 baht would become the `scrooge price`.
Sure, many (not all) bg`s are poor in comparison to there western sisters, but if we are of a mind to alleviate poverty then there are plenty of charities to give to the rural poor of thailand, for whom a bargirls nightly earnings might feed a family for a very long time (and I do accept the point that many bg`s do support their rural families).

This topic has been discussed so much here and in other forums aswell, but its allways different from people to people how much they like to spend. When i am in LOS i allways have a budget for 6500-7000 baht pr day and that does not include hotel. And for that amount you will have a BLAST, but again it depence on the person.3000 baht its not enough if you really want to have holiday you want to remember. So put a few extra K in your budget.

I think that is plenty. I worked out a detailed budget and it will only cost me around $75.5 au or 2265 baht per day to live quite well and want for nothing. But I will be staying in Patong for 6 months so I guess it will work out cheeper long term, and allso I dont drink.
